Raised of $490

$490

My sister Shawna found out in her early twenties she had kidney failure. In 2002, she received a kidney transplant! Her new kidney worked for her 17 years. She raised her two sons and met her grandson. In 2019, her kidney began to fail and she developed Calciphlaxis, a very rare disease associated with kidney failure. She passed away January 29th 2020. Shawna was the strongest person I have ever known. Anyone that met her, loved her! I chose to raise $490, because she went to heaven at the early age of 49. I hope you will join me in this memory walk for Shawna 💚

Thank you for helping to raise funds for the East Tennessee Kidney Foundation (ETKF)!

East Tennessee Kidney Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is dedicated to connecting individual East Tennesseans to the early detection of kidney disease, education, and access to life sustaining care. We serve low-income individuals suffering from varying stages of kidney disease in 19 East Tennessee counties: Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Cumberland, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hawkins, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott, Sevier & Union.

ETKF operates solely on grants, donations, fundraisers and the care and support of our amazing community. We are 100% local; all donations and resources REMAIN in EAST TENNESSEE.

Your hard work raising money supports individual East Tennesseans suffering from kidney disease through the following programs:

  1. Dialysis Transportation. ETKF provides $75 per month to 300+ low-income dialysis patients so they can afford transportation to and from life-sustaining dialysis treatments. This covers expenses such as gas, bus fare, ETHRA fees, etc.
  2. Dental Assistance for Transplant. ETKF provides $2,000 in dental work for those whose last barrier to placement on the kidney transplant waiting list is dental clearance.
  3. Nutritional Supplements. ETKF provides FREE high protein bars to dialysis patients in 19 East Tennessee counties.
  4. Early Kidney Disease Screenings. ETKF provides FREE screenings to the community in order to detect early warning signs of kidney disease.

You can be someone’s hero by supporting these important, local programs that save lives every day. Thank you!

Thank you for your support!
