One Mission does whatever it takes to make life brighter for kids fighting cancer and their families.
In 2009, Ashley and Ari Haseotes founded One Mission after their son, Nicholas, was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia at just 7 months old. Their son’s diagnosis blindsided Ashley and Ari and turned their lives upside down. Nicholas was hospitalized and endured 188 straight days of cancer treatment. Over the course of his long treatment, Ashley kept detailed notes of the things they wished they could change about living in the small confines of a hospital room. From wishing music therapy sessions were more frequent, to longing for toys and games for their son to play with, to missing the comfort found from interaction with others. Her notes from that time, became what One Mission is today – a charity focused on improving the day-to-day life of kids fighting cancer and their families.
Since 2009, One Mission has raised more than $14.6 Million dollars and has brought smiles, comfort and support to over 36,000 kids fighting cancer and their families. One Mission programs make living in the hospital less lonely and stressful, bring back joy and hope in a time of fear and uncertainty and give children and their families the support they need to get through the emotional distress and financial challenges pediatric cancer brings. From the moment of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond, One Mission is there to help children and their families every step of the way.
You can join us in our mission by supporting the Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament June 10th-12th.
The Heroes Cup is a weekend long event designed to bring firefighters, police officers, EMS, and military members together in a fun and meaningful weekend to raise money and awareness for multiple charities. Waltham Fire Local 866 has continued to raise money for One Mission over the years, and we are honored to return as their beneficiary again in 2023. The passion and dedication they have shown for our mission makes us proud to call them part of the One Mission family.
By supporting Waltham Fire Local 866 in the Heroes Cup, you will help One Mission make living in the hospital less lonely and stressful, bring back joy in a time of fear and uncertainty, and give kids and their loved ones the support they need to get through the emotional and financial challenges of treatment.
