Lace 'em up and join us for the 17th Annual TMC Meet Me Downtown 5k Run/Walk and Festival of Miles - now on Saturday night of Memorial Day Weekend! You can also save some bucks and sign up here for the 2023 Gabe Zimmerman Triple Crown, the popular 3-race series,

Enjoy a night on the town and run, walk, or roll a 5k or 1-Mile at Arizona's biggest running party in dynamic Downtown Tucson! 

Adults will love the beer garden, live music, food trucks, and Hotel Congress after-party.

Families will enjoy the Cirque Roots show, the roaming magician, jumping castles, free FitKidz mile, and free entry to the Children's Museum.

Speedsters and age-groupers will love the prize money, age group gift certificates from the Running Shop, and the RRCA West Regional Championship age-group medals.

Description

• Fun for Runners: wide Downtown boulevards with neighbor support leads to fast course, plus prize money for top finishers and age group awards in 5-year categories from The Running Shop
• Fun for Walkers: plenty of room to enjoy a 3.1 mile journey through beautiful Armory Park neighborhood in historic Downtown Tucson
• Fun for Adults: Free beer and discounted pours at the Beer Garden, followed by an after-party at Hotel Congress in dynamic Downtown Tucson
• Fun for Kids: Free SAR FitKidz Mile, for all children under 12, free Children's Museum jumping castle, and more fun for the kids
• Fun for all: live music, food trucks, and plenty of fun, laughter, and togetherness on a hot summer night
• Free High School Mile. The goal is to celebrate our local high school athletes who have finished up their track season and help motivate 'em to start cross country practice. Anyone in high school (or junior high) can sign up for the Free High School Mile. 
• Beneficiaries: Help us raise funds for local charities -- use the "Donate" button to provide funds to the charity of your choice.  This year, we are raising funds for education and youth, so please help us support the Children's Museum, Educational Enrichment Foundation, Greater Tucson Leadership, and the BEYOND-Tucson Foundation.

Planned Race Weekend Schedule

Friday, May 26, 2023, Registration and Packet Pickup
3:00 pm - 6:00 pm, at The Running Shop, 3055 North Campbell Ave

• You can pick up your souvenir items in person Friday, first come, first served basis. Others can register in person at The Running Shop.
• The TMC Meet Me Downtown souvenir shirts for the 5k and Mile and all race bib numbers for the 5k, the 1-mile, and the FitKidz mile will be inside the Running Shop.
• Gabe Zimmerman Triple Crown: you can pick up your Triple Crown souvenir medallion and your souvenir GabeZ shirt at the tent in front of the Running Shop. (You will still have to go inside to get your TMC Meet Me Downtown shirt and race number.)

Yes: You can pick up items for friends -- please limit the number of packet pickups if it is crowded.
Yes: Shirts come in both standard unisex and v-neck cut.
Yes: T-shirt sizing first come, first served.
Yes: Please follow the Running Shop's posted public health protocols.
Yes: It may be crowded, but please be kind to the staff at the Running Shop and the volunteers.
Yes: You can shop at the Running Shop, so bring your wallet and buy all sorts of running goodies for yourself!
Yes: You can snag your souvenirs and do the event virtually, so if you have to miss race night, you can fill in your VIRTUAL RACE INFO here.

Saturday, May 27, 2023, Race Night Schedule
5:00 - 6:30 TMC 5k Registration and Packet Pickup, 200 South Sixth Avenue

We'll set up a chute-based system in front of the Children's Museum for those who pick up their race items on race day and for those who want to register in person on race day. You'll enter from the north, then first get your race number, then get your white TMC Meet Me Downtown shirt, if eligible. If you have not registered for the Triple Crown, you can then leave the chute. If you have registered for the Triple Crown, continue along the chute to receive your souvenir medallion and your souvenir GabeZ shirt from the BEYOND tent, then exit the chute system to the south.

Yes: T-shirt sizing first come, first served.

6:00 pm Start Open Mile Race -- for all ages, all abilities, all bodies, with prize money and finisher medals. Tutus, first-responders, walkers, and speed demons all welcome!

6:15 pm Start Free High School Mile - free mile for all high schoolers -- run or walk, with prizes for top High School Boy and Girl, plus award for top team, following standard cross country scoring

6:30 pm Start SAR FitKidz Mile -- free for all children 12 and under

7:00 pm Start TMC 5k Run/Walk -- for all ages, all abilities, all bodies, with prize money and age group awards. See farther below for awards details.

• RRCA West Regional Championship
• The race is chip-timed
• All prize money will be based on gun-time, all age-group awards will be chip-time.

8:30 or so Awards

For those interested in the Gabe Zimmerman Triple Crown 3-race series, we're committed to providing $10 from every Triple Crown registration to the BEYOND-Tucson Foundation.

The event will take place rain or shine.  There are no refunds, deferrals, or returns for this event.  Race items will not be mailed to participants, but all remaining shirts and souvenirs will be available for first-come, first-served pickup at The Running Shop (3055 North Campbell) through the end of June 2023.

TMC Meet Me Downtown was founded by Randy and Tia Accetta 17 years ago to promote Downtown Tucson by providing fitness and social opportunties for all ages and abilities.  The TMC Meet Me Downtown and our other events have provided over $300,000 to local organizations over the years.
