My running journey began with the Bakersfield 6K in 2024 and it jumpstarted a love for running that has helped improve both my physical and mental health. After running the full marathon the past two years I’m excited to be back again in 2027 for my annual tradition at the Bakersfield Marathon. It will always be my favorite race because it’s where my running journey began and holds such a special place in my heart.

As a 35-year-old, soon-to-be 36, mom of three, running became my way of coping with stress and finding balance. It challenges me mentally and physically, pushes me to keep going, and reminds me of what I’m capable of. I love the Bakersfield Marathon because it’s home, it’s fun, and there’s nothing like running through the streets of my own community

Working out is one of my favorite things to do! I enjoy Hot Pilates, weight training, and, of course, RUNNING As a busy mom I fit in workouts whenever I can—during my kids’ practices, after dinner, or, if I’m lucky, on a Sunday afternoon. Running is my passion, it’s my time to reset. It gives me a chance to clear my head, challenge myself, and do something that’s just for me.

I love the Bakersfield Marathon. It truly is an event for everyone. Whether you’re a competitive athlete, a casual runner, or someone who just wants to walk and enjoy the race-day vibes, there’s a place for you. It’s fun, welcoming, and brings our community together!

Nancy is a wife, mom, office manager, and spin instructor at Rush Cycle Bakersfield. She found a passion for fitness after starting her fitness journey in 2023 and losing over 140 lbs.

She’s a firm believer that one should always find the joy in being active.

This will be her 3rd year in a row being part of the Bakersfield Marathon. She has a total of four 1/2 marathons and one full marathon under her belt with plans to continue to run more races.

The thing she most looks forward to at the Bakersfield Marathon is witnessing the beautiful community that shows up to run or cheer on all the runners. It truly shows what makes Bakersfield such a great community to be a part of!

I’m Ana, a wife, mom, believer, runner, and community advocate from California’s Central Valley. I started running in 2022 and quickly fell in love with the running community and the connections it creates. I’m excited to represent the Bakersfield Marathon as an ambassador, encourage others to challenge themselves, and share my faith along the way. I can’t wait to see everyone at the finish line!

I'm a mom and teacher who really enjoys the party pace!  You can find me happily bringing in the back of the pack across the country - I'm trying to do a marathon in all fifty states before I'm fifty!

Excited to be a part of the Bakersfield Marathon as an ambassador.

The event has so much energy and great vibes throughout the entire experience.

So many people make this a great event. The volunteers, spectators, the announcers, the runners & walkers on the course and so many others come together making new connections, new friends!

I enjoy seeing the vendors, sipping the beer and showing off the great swag and medal.

I love the energy and community that comes alive during the Bakersfield Marathon! Running has taught me that setting goals and challenging yourself is something anyone can do, no matter where you’re starting. I love encouraging others to get moving, chase their goals, and discover how much they’re capable of.
