Setting up Your Transition Area

The transition area for this race is a little different.  There will be two of them.  One at the start/finish of the race and one after leg 2 (the first bike leg).  You will need to carry everything needed for legs 2 – 9 when you head out on your bike. Remember: run, bike, swim, run, swim, run, swim, run, bike, run.  When you begin leg 2 on your bike you will need to have your swim and run gear. You can leave whatever you want at each of the transitions, just be sure you don’t need it during legs 2 – 9. Upon returning to T1, nothing may be left in the Clear Lake transition area.

Half the Battle has the same 2 transition areas and all of the same rules apply, but leg 4 will take you back to your bike at the Clear Lake transition area.

All items left in the Clear Lake transition area will be donated or discarded.

One very popular method to carry your stuff is to use a personal swim buoy.  We like those and encourage using them, but yours must be a color other than orange so not to cause confusion with the marker buoys. See "what do to with your stuff" for a video demo.
