REQUIREMENTS

Registrants must be able to complete the full 13.1 mile course in under 3.5 hours. Must be through mile 7 (tradition area) at a 15:30/min pace.

FIELD SIZE


The Half Marathon field will be capped at 1,000 runners. The Race Director reserves the right to change the size of the half marathon field.

REGISTRATION


Registration for the Bethany Beach First Responders Half Marathon Relay is available HERE. Once you have registered, please take the time to confirm the accuracy of the information. You may be able to look up and edit your information by logging into your RunSignUp account. You will also have 15 mins. to clear the registration if you notice a mistake. This can only be done from the registration confirmation page.

TRANSITION AREA & TRANSPOTATION

The transition area will be located at approximately Mile 7. Transportation will be provide. The bus will be located adjacent to the starting line and will depart IMMEDIATELY after the start of the race. If you are the second runner in the relay and you are not on the bus, it will not wait and you will need to provide your own transportation to the transition area. The bus will bring the 1st runner back to the finish line only after the last relay participant has arrived at the transition area. If you do not want to wait, you can make your own arrangements to get back to the finish line or you can run in with your teammate.

HALF MARATHON RELAY COURSE


The Half Marathon course starts in downtown Bethany Beach and continues north through the beautiful Fresh Pond State Park. Once exiting the state park the course makes its way over the majestic Indian River Inlet Bridge for the first time. It then winds its way through the Delaware Seashore State Park and the back over the Indian River Inlet Bridge for the second time. From here you continue south back the downtown Bethany Beach and finish on the world famous Bethany Beach Boardwalk where you post race festivities begin.

WATER STATIONS


Water Stations will be located approximately every two miles. Gatorade Endurance Lemon Lime will be offered at at least two of the stations.

Each water station will also offer port-a-pots for runner use.  
 

RACE AMENITIES


Long Sleeve tech shirts will be given to each participant. Shirts can only be guaranteed to those that register prior to September 10th. If you are registering after this date and are concerned about a shirt, inventory will be loaded into the registration software. If your size is available when you register, then you will be guaranteed a shirt. 

A special commemorative race premium will also be provide by NKS Distributors. We will announce this premium as we get closer to the race date.

 

MEDALS


The 2020 race medals will be released at a later date.  Each half marathon relay finisher will earn a medal to commemorate their successful completion of the race.  

 

COURSE AMENITIES


Mile Marker sign at each mile,  water stations on the course (water and Gatorade), Toilets at start/finish and at all water stations on the course.

 
HALF MARATHON RELAY AWARDS


Awards Ceremony: The awards ceremony will take place on the Bethany Beach Bandstand following the race.

Overall Winners of Male, Female and Co-ed Teams will receive a trophy.
