Registration

Q: What happened to the Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquabike events that had been part of the race.

A: The multisport events were cancelled 2019 due to an increase in production expenses.

 

Q: Can I register at Packet Pick Up & Expo?

A: Registration will be available at the Packet Pick Up & Expo. You can only register for events that are not sold out. Cash and Credit Cards Accepted.

Q: Can I register on race day?

A: Yes, in fact, online registration will remain open until just before the start of all races. Remember, the longer you wait to register, the more expensive it is and your chance of getting an event shirt decreases. Registration will only be available to events not sold out.

Q: Can I transfer my registration to another runner?

A: No. Illegal transfers will result in a 2 year ban from all Focus Multisports events.

Q: Will I receive a refund if I cannot attend?

A: Focus Multisports does not process refunds. No Exceptions.

Q: How can I check to see if I'm registered?

Q: Can I switch races or transfer events?  Example: BBSW Half Marathon to the BBSW 10k.

Q: Can I edit my registration? 

A: Yes, parts of your registration can be edited. i.e. address, shirt size, email address, and more. Learn more HERE.

Q: Can I purchase Add Ons, such as After Party tixs & VIP,  after I have registered.

A: Yes, Click HERE to purchase.

Q: What do I get for my entry fee?

A: All BBSW participants  5k, 10k, Half & Half Relay participants receive a high quality gender specific shirt. All Participants receive a finishing medal if you complete the race (Challenge participants receive an extra medal if they registered for a challenge run and complete both events). All participants receive a finish line Celebration Party . Please be sure to bring you ID to the Expo or the Finish Line Party if you plan to drink alcoholic beverages or go to the I.D. check at Packet Pick up for a wristband. Those participating in the 5k & 10k on Saturday only will need to purchase a ticket to the Sunday after if they wish to attend.

Q: I deferred from the event last year. Am I automatically re-registered for this year?

A: All deferred athletes from the 2020 cancellation were automatically re-registered for the 2021 event. 

Q: I am trying to re-register after deferring from last year and it won't let me register for a different distance.

A: You can only re-register for the distance you deferred.

Q: I have re-registered after deferring last year. I'm trying to switch races to a different distance and it's charging me full price.

A: You can only re-register for the distance you deferred. If you would like to switch races, you will need to pay the full amount.

 

Race Information

Q: What are the race addresses for all races ?

A: All races start at Bethany Beach Boardwalk and Garfield Pkwy, Bethany Beach, DE  19930

 

​Q: Where are the Water Stops on the races?

A: Please view each individual races on our website to see maps with water stop information.

Q: Will there be an awards ceremony after the race? What are the award Categories?

A:Yes, Please view each individual races on our website to see awards categories.

​Q: Where can I find my results?

A: CLICK HERE to see results. If you chose to have you results emailed or texted to you when you registered, you can also find you results there.

 

​Q: Is there a dry bag check?

A: No, please leave you belongings in you car or hotel room. Any items left unattended will be removed. 

Q: Will there be porta potties on the race course?

A: Absolutely! Bathrooms will be located at the Start area, Finish area.  Porta Potties will be at all water stops along the Half Marathon course. If you do not see a porta potty on course, ask the water stop volunteers for assistance. Every water stop has porta potties.

​Q: What sports drinks and gels are available on the course?

A: Lemon-Lime Gatorade Endurance will be available on course at at least two aid stations for the Half Marathon..  

 

​Q: What are the event start times?

A: 5k: 7:20AM Saturday

    10K: 7:00AM Saturday

    Half Marathon & Relay: 7:00AM Sunday

   

​Q: Where can we park for the races?

A: Parking is available throughout the Town of Bethany for free. Do not park illegally or block driveways or you may be towed.

​Q: What are the age requirements for each race?

A: Half Maraton: At least 10 years old

   10k & 5k: At least 5 years old to run. Strollers welcome for younger.

Q: Where can I find a course map?

A: Course Map are located on our website under Races.

 

Q: If I'm the second runner in the Half Marathon Relay, how do I get to the transition area and how does the first runner get back to the finish line?

A: A bus will be located adjacent to the starting line. Immediately after the start of the Half Marathon, the bus will depart for the transition area. Please make sure you're on the bus. It will not wait. If you miss the bus, you will need to find you own ride to the transition area. The bus will return to the finish line after the last relay participant reaches the transition area. If you do not want to wait, you can arrange for you own ride back or run back in with your teammate.

General Questions

Q: Will I need my race number for the post race party?

A: Yes, your race number will serve as your ticket for the beer and food at the post-race party.

Q: Will there be parking shuttles on race day?

A: No. We do not have parking shuttles for race day. Only shuttle will be for Relay participants. 

Q: Are headphones allowed during the race?

A: The use of personal music devices are strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, The Coastal Delaware Running Festival encourages a headphone-free environment during the run. Several injuries and deaths have occurred to runners wearing headset/earbuds that were not able to hear instructions from event personnel or vehicles.  Plus, volunteers and spectators will be on course cheering you on and providing directions to help get you to the finish line.

Q: Are Baby Joggers, Strollers or Pets allowed during the race?

A: In consideration of the safety of all participants, NO HAND CYCLES, STROLLERS, BABIES IN CARRIERS/BACKPACKS, IN-LINE SKATES, SKATEBOARDS, BICYCLES OR ANIMALS ON LEASHES will be allowed on the course. This will be strictly enforced. 

 

**If you choose to run with a baby jogger, you must seed yourself accordingly to you pace.  It is your responsibility to make sure your baby jogger does not impede other runners, and you must take extra precaution to ensure your safety, your child’s safety, and the safety of the runners around you. We reserve the right to pull any participant from the race who is endangering other runners or themselves. Inclusion Athletes are always welcome. Please contact the event if special accommodations are needed. Pets are not permitted in any of the races.

Q: What are the time limits for the races? Are they walker friendly?

A:  5K has a 1 hour cut off and is walker friendly.

    10K has a 1.5 hour cut off.

    Half Marathon has a 3.5 hour cut off.

 

Q: Does the Half Marathon have Pace Groups?

A: At this time, pacers will not be provided.

 

Q: What are the Chief Challenge, CaptainChallenge Races?

A: These are races that combine the 5k or the 10k on Saturday with the Half Marathon on Sunday. Participants that complete these challenges receive 3 Finisher Medals for the weekend. CLICK HERE for more info.
