Race History
Bold in the Cold is hosted by the Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers (LGRAW). Since its debut in 1999, the race has become a cherished North Texas tradition, bringing together runners, walkers, volunteers, and spectators willing to embrace the challenges of winter weather. The inaugural Bold in the Cold 5K & 15K was held on January 23, 1999, with 130 participants braving the cold to establish what would become one of the area's premier winter racing events.
