Rules of Competition
The Lakeland Runners Club is a member organization of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and adheres to their respective guidelines and rules of competition for events.
Sportsmanship: Competitors must practice good sportsmanship at all times and treat officials, volunteers, spectators, and other competitors with respect and courtesy.
Following the Course: Participants must follow the prescribed course and are responsible for knowing the route. Cutting the course results in disqualification.
No Outside Assistance: Athletes may not accept any form of aid, such as personal support vehicles or pacers not registered as official competitors, or receive objects from friends/family during the race.
Bib/Number Integrity: Runners must not give a false name during registration or receive or swap race numbers with another runner without following the official transfer process.
Anti-Doping: Participants must comply with anti-doping regulations set by agencies such as the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) or the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
Safety and Etiquette: Runners should be mindful of others, not run more than two abreast, yield to emergency vehicles and wheelchair athletes, and follow all traffic laws and local ordinances.
