The 37th Annual Spirit Run will take on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Fashion Island, Newport Beach. With 14 road racing events, a Family Walk, and a Toddler Trot, Spirit Run has something for every age, from toddlers to grandparents. Adult races include the Adult 5k, 10k, 15k (5k + 10k, times combined and ranked), Elite Mile, Open Mile, Family Mile, and Dog Mile. Youth races include the Youth 5k (high school and younger), six 1/4 - 1-mile races for ages 4 - 18, and Toddler Trot. Family Events include the 5k Family Walk and Family Mile. (Qualifying standards apply for Elite Mile.)
Spirit Run allows you to double or triple your fun by offering you the opportunity to race multiple races and to be eligible to win medals and prizes in each one. For adults, Spirit Run awards a cash prize purse in the Elite Mile, and prizes from Blaze Pizza, Dick's Sporting Goods, and more in the other adult races. Youth winners enjoy Blaze Pizza or Balboa Candy. All race finishes, adult, youth, and canine, receive a “Spirit” finisher's medal.
In between the walking and racing events, participants and spectators enjoy a Youth, Fitness & Dog Expo with food and beverages, live music, massage and shopping for adults, youth activities, health and fitness information, and more.
The net proceeds of this long standing community event benefit youth education and fitness.
