We are sorry to announce that our Happy Hour Half K has been canceled due to the circumstances arising from COVID-19. Canceling is clearly the socially responsible and appropriate choice. The health of our patrons, volunteers, vendors, and staff is paramount. We thank everyone who is continuing to do their part to mitigate this crisis, and we promise to keep you updated to the status of other programs and events through HRCA. The difficult decisions we make today will result in a safer tomorrow.

All currently registered participants will receive a credit from their registration in the coming days.

Looking for something to do with the whole family on Fathers Day Weekend? Look no further than the 2020 Happy Hour Half K on June 19th at Civic Green Park.

Have you always wanted to run a Half Marathon or maybe even just a 5K but seems like too much work? Well.... you're in luck! Join us for the 2nd Annual Happy Hour Half K benefiting the HRCA Therapeutic Recreation Program. 100% of the proceeds go to the HR Therapeutic Rec Program! Bring your family and friends join us in supporting one another on this 1640 foot "race" course. There will be 1 aid station on course for those risking dehydration and looking to carb up with donuts to propel yourself to the finish line. Haven't started training? No worries.... neither has anyone else!!

The finish line will consist of a beer garden and a live performance by 6 Million Dollar Band from 6:45-8:15 p.m.(Check back for more details on what breweries are attending)

Crazy/Wacky attire is welcomed!!

Dogs and pets are not allowed in the park!

We race rain, shine, sleet or snow 99% of the time! However, in the case of severe weather (lightning, tornado, bomb cyclone, hurricane, tsunami) and the course becomes inaccessible and/or pose a major safety danger to participants, the race may be postponed.

What is the HRCA Therapeutic Recreation Program and Scholarship Fund?

The Therapeutic Recreation Programs are intended to enhance the quality of life of individuals with special needs. Their goal is to challenge participants, support general independence, choice, self-determination, and self-confidence in an effort to enhance the quality of life of individuals with special needs. Programs are facilitated by Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists and/or qualified staff. They provide a quality and compassionate community-based environment for participants of all ages and abilities. We want each participant to enjoy recreation. We work towards social independence in a fun and safe environment, while encouraging a general sense of health, wellness, and improved quality of life.
