Event Description

Join us for the 1st Annual Newtown Community Running Event, a fun and inspiring day for runners, walkers, families, and supporters from across the community—and home to Newtown’s first-ever half marathon.

Whether you’re chasing a personal best, taking on the historic half marathon, enjoying a scenic walk, or simply coming out to support a great local event, this race is for everyone. With multiple race distances, a welcoming atmosphere, and plenty of community spirit, it’s the perfect way to get active together.

Net proceeds from the event will benefit Newtown Ambulance in honor of Greg Ritzinger, recognizing his service and dedication to the community.

Come run, walk, cheer, and be part of something special as we kick off what is sure to become a beloved annual tradition. (Sorry-No dogs allowed)

**Must register by July 15th to be guaranteed shirt in your choice of size and cut. Please choose from unisex and women’s cut for moisture wicking performance shirt.

Finisher medals for all participants and we have recently partnered with TOGA Race Coach to offer a FREE 16-week subscription to help you train for the race-no matter which race you are participating in! (Code sent separately after registration)

Page 1 - Includes the first 2.5 miles of the race including the start line up to NYA and on the road past the community center, leading into a counter-clockwise lap around FFH. After the full lap around the campus, the race exits onto Mile Hill Road South.

Page 2 - Miles 2.5 to 10.5. The race goes all the way to down Mile Hill South, turns left on Turkey Hill Road, and then right on River Run Road all the way to the end of the cul de sac before turning around. Once it gets back to Turkey Hill Road it turns right and goes up the hill through the end of Turkey Hill Road, through the gate, and onto Little Brook Lane. It goes all the way to the intersection of Little Brook Lane and Button Shop Road before turning around again back up Little Brook Lane and through the gate again to Turkey Hill Road. Then the race turns right on Mountain View Drive all the way to the end where it turns back towards Turkey Hill Road. Once it gets back to Turkey Hill Road it turns right again on Nearbrook Drive, all the way to the end before turning back to Turkey Hill Road again.

Once it gets back to Turkey Hill Road, it goes back to Mile Hill Road South until it reaches Nunnawauk Road where it turns right and continues all the way down the hill to do a loop around Hitfield Road to Carol Ann Drive to Benjamin Drive before coming back up Nunnawauk Road. One the race reaches the top of Nunnawauk it turns right on Mile Hill Road South.

Page 3 - Miles 10.5 to finish. After continuing down Mile Hill South again, once the race reaches Keating Farms Avenue, it rejoins the back heading in a clockwise direction around the lower half of the campus. When the race gets back to Keating Farms Avenue, it turns right down the straightaway until it reaches the path again near the baseball fields. It continues up over the hill on the path until it comes down the hill again heading towards the finish line.
