COURSE
A stellar venue for the 2024 version of the best Chocolate Run in Michigan, if not the entire region. The most picturesque and flattest course to date.
- You begin on Central with an immediate view of the downtown Detroit skyline with the GM Ren Cen front and center as well as the great fountain.
- Straight across the bridge down the Grand Prix pit lane, to the south tip of the island. Detroit and the river will be on your Right.
- As you approach the south tip you have the Ambassador Bridge and new Gordie Howe bridge right and front of you as you make your turn at the south tip you now have the river and Windsor Ontario skyline on your right.
- Then a Left turn to head up and around the incredible fountain.
- Back down the other side of pit lane, past the Belle Isle Casino and over another bridge.
- Then a few quick jaunts down a few of the picnic streets, past the historic clock tower and Belle Isle Conservatory and Aquarium before following the Grand Prix course back to Central Ave for a 600m straight away to the finish driveway.
Flat and more flat describes this course and no more wet cold grass for staging and the best Chocolate buffet anywhere awaits you just past the finish line.
10k and Double Up 15k folks will just continue to another Left, across another great bridge and back out on course.
