Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019
9 a.m. start time
Race-day registration and packet pickup open at 7:00 a.m.
The transition area will close at 8:45 a.m., after which no non-race entries or exits will be permitted.
Pre and post-race refreshments will be available underneath the pavilion. The awards ceremony will begin at approximately 11 a.m.
Packet pickup for the CATA Come Clean Duathlon takes place on the Friday before the race. Pickup location will be at Playmakers in Meridian Township, MI (2299 W Grand River Ave, Okemos, MI 48864). Participants are free to stop in to the store from noon to 8 p.m. to collect their bib numbers, race shirts, and race bags. Interested candidates that have not signed up may also do so during the packet pickup time.
Awards will be presented at 11 a.m. If you finish early, please feel free to enjoy nearby dining venues. We thank you for your patience as we wait for our participants to finish the race. Awards will be presented as follows:
Overall Male & Female: First place—$500; Second place—$250; Third place—$125.
Overall Male & Female Masters (40 & Older): First place—$500; Second place—$250; Third place—$125.
The top three finishers in each age group will receive a custom digital photo of their choice, formatted as a Lansing State Journal front-page headline story.
All finishers will receive medals.
Age categories: 14 under, 15–19, 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65-69, 70+
Because cash awards are identical in the Overall and Masters categories, racers aged 40 and over (as of race day) will choose the category in which they’ll compete, while all racers under age 40 will be placed in the Overall category. This gives each racer precisely three opportunities to finish “in the money,” regardless of age. All other finishers will be placed in their respective age groups. Please remember that it is each athlete’s responsibility to review and understand race rules before registering and/or competing. All awards are subject to review by the Race Planning Committee.
