DU USA - A Battle of Our Times

Mon June 1 - Sun June 7

Scoring / Awards

AWARDS
Awards will be given to the Top 3 in each of the following divisions (For each distance):

  • Fastest State (Male Team)
  • Fastest State (Female Team)
  • Fastest State (Co-Ed Team)

The fastest 25 times will be counted toward each team competition above (If we do not get multiple states with at least 25 members we will lower the scoring number to the Top 10 members).  Times may count more than once.  Meaning if you are the fastest male your time will count toward the Fastest Male Team and the Fastest Co-Ed Team.  For the Fastest Co-Ed Team competition we will combine the fastest 13 male times and the fastest 12 female times.  So if you are the 14th fastest male your time will count toward the Fastest Male Team and will NOT count toward the Fastest Co-Ed Team.

Every person on the team of the Top 3 Fastest State Teams will receive a commemorative Race Medal Award.  This includes those whose times do not count toward the overall score.

VERIFICATION
All times and distances must be verifiable.  Verification may be done through Strava or by manually sending GPS data.  Details on how to submit your times will be sent closer to event week.  Athletes must be residents of the state they are representing or must be able to prove having lived in either within the last 2 years.  We will investigate any complaints of rule breaking in order to keep the competition fair.

COMPETITION
Athletes may complete the duathlon as many times are desired during race week, and may compete in one or both distances.  Only one time may be submitted and only one time will be scored per distance.  We will not allow an athlete to submit a time and then submit a faster time.  Again, only one time per distance may be submitted.  Deadline to submit times is 11:59PM Eastern Time on Sunday, June 7, 2020.

Athletes must time themselves from start to finish of the entire event.  This means your official time starts when you start the first run and ends when you finish the last run.  All transition times must be included in your final time and must be verifiable as shown above.

HOW TO REPORT TIME
We want this to be a fair competition.  If you are looking to cheat the system, simply don't register.  You will report one time through the RunSignUp portal.  As mentioned you will have to be able to verify the distances covered.  How you do this is up to you.  We suggest using a GPS watch for all outdoor activity and running an overall timer in addition to the watch if you plan to mix up indoor and outdoor miles (Outdoor run and indoor bike for example).

Results will be posted HERE

Athletes must time themselves from start to finish of the entire event.  This means your official time starts when you start the first run and ends when you finish the last run.  All transition times must be included in your final time and must be verifiable as shown above.

SCTS SCORING
This event will be scored toward the 2020 South Carolina Triathlon Series.  All participants who complete the Sprint distance will receive a score 5000 and all participants who complete the International Distance will receive a score of 5000.  If you complete both distances you will receive a score of 5000 for both distances or a total of 10,000 for the event.  This information is only relevant to those who are competing in the SC Triathlon Series.  Category is not important unless you want to qualify for SC Triathlon Series rankings at the end of the year.
