DU USA - A Battle of Our Times

A VIRTUAL DUATHLON COMPETITION BETWEEN THE STATES OF AMERICA.  Which state is the fastest?

RUN (International): 5 Kilometers (3.1 miles)
BIKE (International): 40 Kilometers (24.8 Miles)
RUN (International): 5 Kilometers (3.1 Miles)

RUN (Sprint): 1.0 Mile
BIKE (Sprint): 20 Kilometers (12.4 Miles)
RUN (Sprint): 2.0 Miles

DU USA - A Battle of Our Times is a friendly competition between all the States in America to see who is the fastest and the strongest.  This Battle will be simple.  During the week of June 1 - 7 we will battle for the title by "racing" a duathlon of two distances (distances shown above).  The fastest 25 times from each state (and for each distance) will be added together and the lowest cumulative time will claim the Victory and the Bragging Rights. We will award winners for each distance based on the following categories - Male, Female & Co-Ed.  Outdoor or indoor miles will count as long as they can be verified through Strava or with GPS data.  Please see the SCORING section for full rules on exactly what is required from each athlete and how the verification process will work.  

Athletes will have the entire week to complete the duathlon, and can do the distances as many times as they wish, but only one time can be submitted and only one time will count.  The full distances must be completed in order and without a break.  So, you start your watch when you start the first run and you don't turn it off until you are done with the final run.  That is your time.  If your data shows you stopped your watch at any time during the race, your time will not be counted.

Simple right?  So, let's get it on and find out who is the fastest state in America.  And let's raise some money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society while we do it.  A minimum $5 of every entry will be donated directly to LLS.

All athletes will receive an official race t-shirt and members of the Top 3 State teams will receive winners medals.  Those registering for both distances will automatically receive a 50% discount on the 2nd event.  Those registering for both distances will receive one (1) race t-shirt.
