NOTE: Some race logistics are still being determined, especially times and locations for bib pickup prior to the race. These details will be added here as they are finalized and communicated to participants via email before the race. Bib pickup will be offered on race day starting at 7am near the start line for those who can't pick up beforehand, and it is anticipated bib pickup will be offered on Friday July 24, 2026 at a TBD location in Delta Junction and possibly on Thursday July 23, 2026 in Fairbanks as well.

Race Location & Timing

The race will start promptly at 8am on July 25, 2026 near the Alaska Flour Company barley mill. Parking for the race will open at 7am near the start line and all participants should arrive early enough to listen to the pre-race instructions at 7:45am. The Alaska Flour Company is located at 8107 Wrigley Fields Rd, Delta Junction, AK 99737. To get there, turn on Spruce Rd near mile 1410.1 along the Alaska Highway, then turn left at the Alaska Flour Company sign near the end of Spruce Rd. (The barley mill should become obvious as you travel along Spruce Rd.) Additional signage will be posted along Spruce Rd on race day to help direct traffic to the right place. Please note the Alaska Flour Company is roughly a 20 minute drive from the intersection of the Richardson & Alaska Highways in the center of Delta Junction. Participants traveling from the Fairbanks area or other far away communities should account for any road construction along their route which might delay their arrival. (For those traveling from out of town, see lodging recommendations below.) The race cutoff time is 4.5 hours, so any participant maintaining a casual walking pace of 3mph or faster should finish easily. All participants who need to drop out of the race should notify a volunteer at one of the aid stations. To reduce the burden on our volunteers and to ensure the safety of all participants, any participant who is significantly behind the race cutoff pace by the time they reach the third aid station at Barley Way will be asked to stop and offered transportation back to the finish line.

Race Day Parking

A parking map will be provided to participants via email before the race indicating where to go when you arrive at the Alaska Flour Company property. It is anticipated there will be enough parking for all race participants and spectators very near the start line, but we STRONGLY encourage everyone to carpool so we can limit the need for overflow parking and minimize the distance participants need to walk before and after the race. Please only park in the signed, designated areas! Participants may be dropped off and picked up as well. This is Delta, so if you want to ride your ATV to save space you can but please enter via Spruce Rd and not one of the trails on the property being used for the race. Biking is also encouraged!

Lodging Recommendations

For those traveling from out of town for the race, there are several great places to stay nearby. Alaska Country Inn/Delta Accommodations, Garden B&B, Hillcrest B&B, Diamond Willow Inn, Alaska Homestead Roadhouse  (aka Silverfox Roadhouse), and other lodging providers in and around Delta Junction all provide comfortable spaces. There are also many hidden gem vacation rentals in town. Delta State Recreation Site & Clearwater State Recreation Site offer campground options, with amazing fishing at the latter and a state cabin available at the former. The nearest rustic camping option on public land is located at mile 1408 on the Alaska Highway just a couple miles from Spruce Rd at the Granite Creek trailhead, while the Gerstle River is a more scenic campsite about 17 miles down the Alaska Highway.
