We cordially invite you to participate as a sponsor of the 2 nd Annual Scouting the Moon 5k/10k
on October 6 th , 2024. This event is organized by Scouts BSA Troop 198 in Moon Township and
will be held at Moon Park with the course also running through the scenic Hollow Oak Land
Trust.
The values of Scouting found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law are just as relevant today as they
were in 1910. The programs continue to help youth develop skills to last a lifetime in the areas of
leadership, self-confidence, ethics, academic skills, citizenship and much more through trying
new things and providing service to others.
With your sponsorship, the troop will be able to purchase equipment, maintain the troop trailer,
purchase the many merit badges and awards earned by the Scouts and fund campouts and
activities. Your sponsorship also helps defray the cost of organizing the event allowing it to
continue to grow and open even more doors of opportunity to the Scouts of Troop 198.
This event will also provide the community an opportunity to get outdoors and exercise. Races
will begin at 8am. Awards will be given to top qualifiers in different categories. All entrants will
receive a keepsake for participating.
