Listening Walk
Clarke’s Listening Walk at the Zoo is designed to encourage children who are deaf or hard of hearing to use their
listening skills to discover new sounds throughout the Bronx Zoo, like the honk of a flamingo or the bark of a
sea lion. Children will learn animal names, and their distinct sounds. Each child will receive a Listening Walk Passport to keep track of the Listening Walk Stops visited.
Clarke’s Listening Walk at the Zoo will be fun and educational for children and will draw the general public’s attention to the fact that children who are deaf or hard of hearing can listen and talk.
