Autism Speaks 8K Run & 1k Fun Run - Austin, TX

Race Details
Prohibited: For safety reasons, the following are not permitted in the 8k or 1k Fun Run: skates, bikes, motorized scooters, and pets (non-service animals). We ask that those who wish to participate in wheelchairs, strollers, and bike joggers to remain near the back of the 8k and 1k Kid’s Fun Run race.

Course: The 8k and 1k Fun Run goes through the iconic Camp Mabry grounds. Mabry offers a double loop; challenging course that winds throughout the parade grounds. Water will be available at the start/finish line as well as two stops along the course. This course is certified.

Timing & Results: Provided by Domore Racing using disposable B-tag timing technology. Race results will be posted on the home page of the event website after the completion of the Austin 8k & 1k Fun Run.

Awards: Awards to top overall male and female runners, overall male and female Masters and in brackets:

Fundraising: Every participant is encouraged to fundraise. Participants who raise over $168 will receive a prize swag item after the race is completed. Fundraising is critical to continue to support the mission of Autism Speaks.

Teams: Teams take on the spirit of the day as family, friends and co-workers join together to have fun and help raise awareness for autism. Organize friends, family, schools, place of worship, community organization, or get your company involved! Choose a team name and captain or co-captains. Each team member (adult and child) is asked to set a minimum fundraising goal of $168, but we always encourage more!

Grab your buddy and each of you do a 4K loop.

Awards will be given to to the top 3 relay teams.

The First Leap Kids K race winds around the Parade Field. All kids get a small finisher's medal. Several kids activities at the finish line keep your little racer occupied during the 8k.

Virtual Runner - We are strongly encouraging runners and walkers who can’t be with us at Camp Mabry on Sunday, May 29th to compete and/or participate in our “Virtual 8k & 1k Kid’s Fun Run”. Virtual Runners must register via the website, and will receive their performance shirt in advance to join us virtually on May 29th. You can run and raise money for autism anywhere! Virtual runners are encouraged to snap a photo in there t-shirt with run location and post to our Facebook wall. The virtual 8k & 1k Fun Run deadline to receive the performance shirt prior to race day is April 15, 2016. Virtual Runners who register after this date will receive their shirt after May 29th.
