The 2022 COFFEE POT TURKEY TROT 5K is a family–friendly, timed 5K looping around St. Petersburg’s Coffee Pot Bayou on Thanksgiving morning. Returning for its sixth year the event is a beloved tradition for families, friends, and fitness enthusiasts. The event is hosted by the North Shore Elementary PTA to benefit North Shore Elementary, a Title One School. The 2022 Presenting Sponsor is Northstar Realty: Georgia and Kirby.
The North Shore Elementary PTA believes that every school has the potential for success. Active parents, a supportive community, and engaged students can combine to make any school a warm and stimulating environment in which students are inspired to succeed.
The 6th Annual Coffee Pot Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Day 5K will take place on Thursday November 24, 2022 at 7:45 am.
The start/finish is at North Shore Elementary School located at 200 35th Avenue NE, St. Pete FL 33704.

Yes, there will be one water station.
Yes! We present awards for the overall male and female runners (1st, 2nd & 3rd places) as well as overall 12-and-under runners, and overall masters runners. In addition, age division winners will receive small awards.
We also encourage Thanksgiving themed costumes for the race and will award prizes for best individual and best group costumes.
If you’d like to participate in the Coffee Pot Turkey Trot but can’t make it to North Shore Elementary on Race Day you can still join us virtually! Virtual participants can run or walk their 5k at any time on Thanksgiving Day and then submit their time to our virtual leaderboard! Virtual participants must either pay a shipping fee to have their packet mailed to them, or pick up their packets in person during the week of Thanksgiving. Deadline for shipping is: November 11th.
Yes, with a copy of their identification you may pick up someone else’s race bib.
Gear check/hold is not available.
For safety reasons, except for participants pushing a baby stroller/jogger, no wheeled vehicles including but not limited to: scooters, rollerblades, rolling shoes and bicycles are allowed on the race course. Participants pushing a baby stroller/jogger are requested to line up towards the back of the starting area.
No. Dogs are not allowed on school board property, which is where the event will start and finish.
