The 2024 COFFEE POT TURKEY TROT 5K is a family–friendly, timed 5K looping around St. Petersburg’s Coffee Pot Bayou on Thanksgiving morning. Returning for its eighth year the event is a beloved tradition for families, friends, and fitness enthusiasts. The event is hosted by the North Shore Elementary PTA to benefit North Shore Elementary, a Title One School. The 2024 Presenting Sponsor is Northstar Realty: Georgia and Kirby.
The North Shore Elementary PTA believes that every school has the potential for success. Active parents, a supportive community, and engaged students can combine to make any school a warm and stimulating environment in which students are inspired to succeed.

When & Where is the 2024 Coffee Pot Turkey Trot?
The 8th Annual Coffee Pot Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Day 5K will take place on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at 7:45 am. The start/finish is behind North Shore Elementary School located at 200 35th Avenue NE, St. Pete FL 33704. The start line is on 34th Ave NE.
What is the price of the race?
Adults:
$35 until midnight September 20
$40 September 21 - midnight November 5
$45 November 6 - November 27 at 6 pm (or until race reaches capacity)
Children 5-11:
$15 until November 5, 2024
$20 November 6 - November 27 at 6 pm (or until race reaches capacity)
Children 4 and under: Free
(Note - children 4 and under do NOT receive t-shirt or other race memorabilia with a free registration. If you would like your child under 5 to receive a t-shirt, you must purchase one at the end of your registration.)

Do all participants receive a t-shirt?
Yes, all paid participants receive a shirt and medal! The 2024 shirt will be uploaded once it's ready. The shirts will be unisex sizing and we will offer youth sizes.
When and where is Packet Pick-up?
Packet pick-up will take place at North Shore Elementary School: 200 35th Ave NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33704. Packet pick-up will take place on the side of the school facing 1st Street. Parking will be available in the parking lot on the corner of 1st Street and 35th Avenue, as well as along the street on both 35th Avenue NE and 34th Avenue NE.
If you would like to have your packet picked up by someone else, please give that person a copy of your registration confirmation or a picture of your driver's license.

Please note: Because of road closures the race must start promptly at 7:45 am. We will not be able to wait for racers still in line at packet pickup when the race starts. Please try and attend one of the two previous packet pick-up sessions.

Yes, the 5K is a chip-timed event.

Will there be water stops along the course?
Yes, there will be one water station near the Snell Isle Bridge.
What is included in the participant registration price?
- Race T-shirt

Are there Awards for the 5K?
Yes! We present awards for the overall male and female runners (1st, 2nd & 3rd places) as well as overall 12-and-under runners, and overall masters runners. In addition, age division winners will receive small awards.
We also encourage Thanksgiving themed costumes for the race and will award prizes for best individual and best group costumes.
Can I run it as a virtual 5K?
Yes, you can run the Turkey Trot 5K on your own time, but you will need to collect your shirt and bib at one of the above listed packet pickups. We will not be mailing out items.
Can I pick up someone else’s race bib or can someone pick up mine?
Yes, with a copy of their identification you may pick up someone else’s race bib.
Is gear-check available race morning?
Gear check/hold is not available.
Are bicycles, rollerblades, scooters, wheeled shoes or other wheeled transportation permitted in the race?
For safety reasons, except for participants pushing a baby stroller/jogger, no wheeled vehicles including but not limited to: scooters, rollerblades, rolling shoes and bicycles are allowed on the race course. Participants pushing a baby stroller/jogger are requested to line up towards the back of the starting area.
Are dogs allowed at the race?
No. Dogs are not allowed on school board property, which is where the event will start and finish.
Do you need volunteers and how can they sign up?

Where can I find 5K race results?
On-site results will be available following the race; a link to results will be emailed to all valid email addresses post-race.
