Description

Dear Runners,

With deep regret, the Avondale Elementary School Education Foundation (AESEF) has decided to cancel our third annual road race - the AES 5K and One Mile, formerly the AES Runs the World - scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2019. Our beloved Beth Breit, our P.E. teacher for 22 years and the race’s co-organizer, is being treated for breast cancer. The AESEF Board, following much deliberation, has voted to focus our time and energy on supporting Coach Breit.

As a valued runner, we extend to you two options: we can issue you a full refund for signing up to participate, including the processing fee from RunSignUp.com, or you may convert your registration to a donation, which may be tax deductible.  We will use all donations for the same purposes as we intended to use our proceeds from the race, including STEM education and the enhancement of outdoor learning spaces at the school.

You should have already received an email regarding the cancellation.  If you have not, please contact our treasurer, Calvin Williams, by email at calvin1007@live.com to let him know how you would like us to proceed with your registration.

The AES 5K and One Mile event is one of our signature events, and we look forward to coming back with vigor and putting on a fantastic race in 2020. We hope you will continue to be part of our success at Avondale Elementary School.

Sincerely,

Keith Sagers, M.B.A.
