Daniel Levey was a young man who died 20 years ago at age 19 in a hiking accident, the day after completing the Lanikai 8K in 2003. This race is held in his memory and generously supported by his parents, Dr. Joyce Cassen and Norm Levey. There is a special award given to the male winner in his age group.
Bunch start at the Lanikai Monument on the hill entering Lanikai, then two counterclockwise loops of the Lanikai Bike Path with the finish near the Lanikai Boat Ramp. Faster runners should move to the front and walkers towards the back to avoid collisions.
Parking is available in the Boat Ramp area as well as in Kailua Beach Park. If you order a tank top for the race, it will be available at packet pick-up and on race day at the check-in tent. Results will be posted on race day and available online at timelinehawaii.com. Awards will be presented at the race to the top three male and female finishers as well as the top three in 5-year age groups.
