Registration Info


Registration Opens: Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 12:00 noon EST

Registration Closes: When all race spots are filled. **We expect this to happen very quickly!**


RETURNING in 2020! Runners will be accepted into the 2020 Harpoon 5-Miler on a first come, first served basis. To run the race, you need to be one of the first 5,000 runners to sign up. We expect the race to fill up extremely quickly, so please set your calendars and alarms for 12:00 noon on March 18th.


PLEASE NOTE: You will claim your spot in the race when you submit your payment information. You are NOT guaranteed a spot when you begin the registration process - ONLY when you submit your payment and complete your registration. This means that it is possible for the race to sell out WHILE you are filling in your registration information.

If registration fills up while you are in the middle of attempting to register, you will not be permitted to complete your registration. This is NOT a glitch in the site's technology. It means that 5,000 runners submitted their payment and completed their registration before you did, and the race is full. We will not be able to accommodate you after that time.

5-Miler Race Fee is $60 and includes:

  • Entrance into the Harpoon 5-Miler
  • Commemorative Race Day Shirt from Reebok
  • Harpoon 5-Miler Bottle-Opener Finisher Medal
  • Post-race party at Harpoon Brewery
  • 2 beer tickets (Friends of Harpoon will receive a 3rd beer ticket)

Frequently Asked Registration Questions


What if I can't run on race day? Can I get a refund or transfer my registration to someone else?

Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. But please know that your race fee is going to an amazing cause.  


Wait, I don't get it. What's does it mean that Registration is first come, first served?

It's pretty simple: Harpoon only has 5,000 spots in the race, and they will be given to the first 5,000 people that register. And when the race is full, it's full! So mark your calendars, set your alarms, and make sure you don't plan any 12:00 meetings on March 18th. You're going to want to be on your phone or desktop when the clock strikes noon.

Can I run as part of a team?

Yes! It’s tradition here at Harpoon to run in teams of 6, called “6 Packs”! Find out ALL about teams here. 


 What happened to the Race Lottery?

If you ran with us for the past few years, you’ll remember that we conducted a random lottery to select who would run in the race. We decided to switch to a “first come, first served" or "rush" model in 2018, to simplify the process, and it was a huge success. We wanted to give you the opportunity for your fate to be in your hands!


If I don’t register in time, will there be a waitlist?

No, we do not keep a waitlist for this race. So make sure you’re one of the first people to register at noon on March 18th.
