Rules & Safety
1. Packet Pick-up: Packet pick-up will be available at the Domenici Fitness Center, Sgt. Willie Estrada Memorial Civic Center, and Bluebird Running Company on Thursday and Friday. There will be no packet pick-up on race day. A photo ID is required. If you would like to transfer from the Marathon or Half Marathon to the 5K, you may request it during packet pick-up or on race day from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. For more details, visit the Packet Pick-up page.
2. Bib Rules
o Registered participants will receive a custom bib.
o Display bib on the inside left corner of windshield to enter the installation.*
o Wear the bib on the front of the t-shirt or left thigh to participate.
o Do not fold or roll bib and chip.
o Do not transfer your bib or RFID to another person.
*Non-DoD cardholders, the bib is your authorization to enter Holloman AFB on December 9, 2023!
3. Event Timing
o We will use SunDragons ATC computerized timing for the Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K.
o Participants must start at the scheduled time (not earlier, not later).
o Results will be live here.
o Awards will be determined by chip time, not gun time.
4. Course Time Limits
o Marathon: 8 hours
o Half Marathon: 7 hours 45 minutes
o 5K: 2 hours
* After the time limit is up, our assigned volunteers will pick up any participants still on the course.
5. Base Entry Restrictions
o All people and vehicles are subject to inspection, search, and seizure.
o The following is not permitted:
- Contraband
- Ice chests
- Illegal drugs
- Pets are not allowed other than certified service animals
- Recreational marijuana in any form
- Tents or shade canopies
- Recreational marijuana in any form
- Weapons of any kind
o Violating any of the mentioned above will result in the items being confiscated and may result in Federal Criminal charges.
6. Course Safety
o For the enjoyment and safety of all participants and spectators, the race courses are restricted to registered and authorized personnel only.
o The following is not permitted:
- Animals (except for service animals)
- Bicycles
- Roller blades/skates
- Scooters
- Strollers (ALLOWED on the 5K course)
- Nor any other wheeled vehicle
7. Spectator Guidelines
o Spectators are more than welcome!
o Non-DoD cardholder spectators must be in the same vehicle as the registered participant.
o Not allowed to enter the course nor run alongside athletes.
o Viewing Areas:
- Start/finish (includes Post-celebration)
- Flight Line Spectator Viewing Area (0.3 miles from the start line)
8. Photography
o Do not take photos nor videos as you enter the installation
o Limit photography/videography to the start/finish area
o Limit photography to the Flight Line Spectator Viewing Area (towards the course/participants)
