Race Day Road Closures & Detours

 

ROAD CLOSURES & NEIGHBORHOOD DETOUR SUGGESTIONS
 

Please be alert for Course Monitors, Volunteers, and Holly Springs Police Officers who will be managing key areas of the race course. Residents exiting their neighborhoods from & onto the following roads should use caution and take note of the following temporary detours:

 

Holly Springs Rd. will be closed in both directions from N. Main St. to Johnson Rd (at Holly Spring Elementary) from 7:00AM - approx. 10:00AM

 

Main Street will be closed to all northbound traffic (ie coming from Hwy 55 bypass) from Roger St. to Earp St. from 7AM - approx. 10:00AM ; detouring left onto Rogers St. to Avent Ferry Rd; can then proceed to Earp St.

 

Southbound Main St. traffic (coming from N. Main St. or W. Holly Springs Rd) will be detoured (right) at Earp St. to Avent Ferry Rd. from 7AM - approx. 10:00AM. 

 

Sunset Ridge and Windcrest residents travelling to or along Crossway Lane should expect to see runners from 7:15 - 10:00 AM along Crossway between the Veterans Park greenway access (@ Skymont) and Steedmont Dr., with HSPD positioned at Skymont and Steedmont.  Additionally, runners will be on Bikram Dr., Millpass, and Anchor Creek. 

 

Windward Pointe residents will have no ability to turn right, and limited ability to turn left, onto Holly Springs Rd. from Cayman Ave between 7:15 - approx. 10:00AM.  

 

Residents who live on Collins St. and Raleigh St. should exit to Earp St. between 7:15 - approx. 10:00AM.

 

Sports at Jones Park will be starting at 11AM, as Holly Springs Rd. will be re-opened at approximately 10:00 AM.  

 

Sports at Womble Park will begin at 11AM.

 

Grigsby Ave. will be closed in both directions between Rogers St. and Stinson Ave. from 7:00 - approx 9:30AM. 

 

Remington residents:  

  • exiting from Steeple Rd. can make a right turn only onto Grigsby from 7:30 - 9:30 AM and proceed to Earp for right turn, or a volunteer/HSPD assisted left turn. After 8:30, left turns can be made with a right turn required onto Ballentine.
  • exiting from Lee St., can make a right turn ONLY onto Grigsby only from 7:30 - 9:30 AM and proceed to Earp for right turn or a volunteer/HSPD assisted left turn.
  • traffic on Oak St. and Elm St. will not be permitted to turn onto Grigsby from 7:30 - 9:30AM 
  • exiting from Turner St., with Volunteer assistance, left turn only allowed, then making right turn onto Elm St. from 7:30 - 9:30 AM.  Be careful of runners in both directions.
  • exiting from Baygall or Indian Hill Rds, unless you are going to the Hunt Center, please make a left onto Stinson and proceed to Bass Lake Rd. 
     

Lakeside residents exiting from Maple Ave from 7:30 - 9:30 AM, please avoid making a right turn onto Grigsby and instead proceed, with HSPD or volunteer assistance, straight through Grigsby intersection toward S. Main St (between runners).

 

Parkside Village and Fair Hill residents exiting from Waterpointe Dr., Fair Glen Rd., and Fairground Rd. from 7:30 - 9:30 AM, please make a left turn only, with volunteer assistance through runners, and proceed to Maple Ave. for a left turn to S. Main St. 

 

Residents in Valleyfield, Park Avenue, and Parks at Bass Lake from 7:30 - 9:30AM please avoid heading towards/past the ball fields, and instead make your way to Blooming Meadow Rd.,(pay attention to runners coming from Sugg Farm) to Stinson making a right to Bass Lake Rd.
