The Julie Smith Courage Award
This award is given to the first gynecologic cancer survivor to finish the 5K race in memory of ovarian cancer warrior Julie Smith. Julie exemplified kindness, courage and joy throughout her journey. She did not let cancer define her and continued to live her life to the fullest. Julie worked diligently to raise awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer, and was a dedicated advocate for fighting the disease through healthy nutrition and exercise. Julie’s spirit and memory are honored through this Courage Award.
