What better way to celebrate the first day of Summer. Choose to run solo for 12 hours or as a relay team, up to 9 teammates. Gather family and friends, pop a tent, bring chairs, snacks/drinks for a Royal Picnic. Indoor shelter house with Air Conditioning is available to cool off all day! Songs picked by you and played by us! Short sleeve shirt and medals for all participants.

Shaded Trail run through beautiful woodsy Southeastway Park is one 1.31 mile loop. Run 10 loops for a half marathon, 20 loops for a full marathon, 77 loops to cross 100 miles. Register solo, 2-3 person relay team, 4-6 person relay team or 7-9 person relay team. Prizes in all team categories for the most miles ran in 12 hours. 

Race starts at 7:00am with your lead off runner. While your waiting for your turn to run the loop, jam to your favorite song, play catch, corn hole tournament, play tricks on your friends/family, random prizes given out through the day, just have fun!! And finally at 7:00pm we will tap the keg (soda for the kiddos) and enjoy some pizza (included). All teammates may choose how, who and when they take turns running loops. Some may do more loops and some may do less. Awards at 7:30pm following the Royal Feast.

Royal Teams: Everyone from your team will have the same team name printed on the back of your shirt (optional).

Solo: Choose your very own personalized name for the back of your shirt (optional).

Will there be a shelter house? Yes, indoor shelter house! Best part, it has air conditioning and is open all day!!

How is our distance tracked? Scoring will be determined by the number of loops FINISHED before the race clock hits 12 hours. For Solo runners, a triathlon style timing strap. For relay teams, a baton to pass to each other, which has a triathlon style timing strap.This will track each time you cross the start/finish line. 

What if I am not finished with my loop at 7:00 p.m.? All loops must be finished by 7:00 p.m. otherwise it will NOT COUNT as your/team loop. The clock at the Start/Finish is the Official Race Clock.

Is the course closed to non-participants? No. The course utilizes trail sections of the wooded area. Aside from the trail sections, the entire course is open to pedestrians. And these folks may not know that there’s a race going on – so be aware and be kind. Other sections of the park will be occupied with family picnics, especially the playground area.

What do I need to bring for this type of event? We recommend, tents/canopies (10 x 10 size), chairs, tables, coolers with ice, food/drinks for a royal picnic (breakfast, lunch, fruits, energy gels, crackers, sports drinks, etc), sunscreen, anti-chafe solutions, bug spray, change of clothing (shirt, shorts, shoes, etc.) and towels. Please note: What you bring in, goes back out with you. Trash cans will be available on site.

Can my dog run? Sorry we love dogs but they are not allowed on the trail course. However they are more then welcomed as spectators at the park. Only service dogs are permitted in the indoor shelter house.

May I push a stroller?  – Sorry this a trail loop and is not stroller friendly, but strollers will be permitted at the park during your royal picnic time.

What if my teammate shows up late? Not a problem. You and your team will decide who, when, and how each other alternates running loops.

Medals? Everyone receives a Royal Beast medal whether running on a team or solo!

Shirts? Everyone receives a shirt whether on a team or solo!

Will food be provided during the event? No, please bring your own Royal Picnic. Water and Gatorade will be available all day. At 7:00pm, the Post Party will include: Pizza and beer.

What if it rains or storms? We are a rain-or-shine event. However, safety is important. If a bad storm with lightning and/or heavy wind moves through, we may have to shut down until the storm passes.

We will use our weather apps to monitor conditions throughout the day.
If weather approaches, we will officially pause timing/scoring and all runners will have to stop after they finish their loop.
All canopies/tents will be lowered for safety. Please have tents/canopies staked or weighed down. 
Once the weather passes, we will restart the event but we will NOT restart the clock. Therefore if the weather causes a 40 minute pause, the event now becomes a “11 hour and 20 minute race”.

Where do I park? Free parking is available at Southeastway Park, however space is limited so please car pool. 

Route? Is a 1.31 Dirt Trail Loop. How many loops can you conquer in 12 Hours? 

Packet Pick Up? Friday 4:00-6:00, Greek's Pizzeria, 4901 N College Ave, Indianapolis - or at the race, race morning after 6am
