Sat June 18, 2022 New Palastine, IN 46163 US Directions

Is this a Paved Course or Dirt Trail Course? Both - you choose either dirt trail or the paved course!!!

Can I run both the dirt trail course and the paved course?  Yes, please select paved trail course during registration.

Are there Overall Prizes in both the dirt trail and paved courses?  Yes, Overall 1,2 & 3rd place M/F Winners in both Dirt Trail & Paved Courses (Trail winners must compete on trails only.  Paved course winners can compete in both the Dirt Trail and Paved courses) Prizes will not be mailed.

Are there team prizes?  Yes, First place teams will win prizes in either the Dirt Trail course or the Paved Course (Trail Team winners must compete on trails only.  Paved course team winners can compete in both the Dirt Trail and Paved courses). Prizes will not be mailed

Will there be a indoor shelter house? No, were outside all day. There is plenty of shade. Please bring hydration and supplies to help you keep yourself cool.

How is our distance tracked? Scoring will be determined by the number of loops FINISHED before the race clock hits 12 hours, 6 hours or 3 Hours . For Solo runners, disposable timing chips on a Race Bib. For relay teams, a baton to pass to each other, with Timing Chips. This will track each time you cross the start/finish line.

Do I have to wear my Race Bib the entire event?  No! If you run without your Race Bib, it is your responsibility to tell the timer your Bib Number each loop...

What if I am not finished with my loop at 7:00 p.m.? All loops must be finished by 7:00 p.m. otherwise it will NOT COUNT as your/team loop. The clock at the Start/Finish is the Official Race Clock.  ***Same rules apply for the Mini 6 Hour Beast and Micro 3 Hour Beast!  6 Hour must finish their last loop before 2:00pm.  3 Hour must finish their last loop by 12:00pm.

Is the course closed to non-participants? No. We rented the back half of the park , but we do not have security to enforce it. Chances are good that park visitors will come and use the trails too.  Plan on seeing some non-Royal-Beast runners and walkers, and maybe even some bikes & hoverboards...

What do I need to bring for this type of event? We recommend, hand-sanitizer, tents/canopies (10 x 10 size), chairs, tables, coolers with ice, food/drinks for a royal picnic (breakfast, lunch, fruits, energy gels, crackers, sports drinks, etc), sunscreen, anti-chafe solutions, bug spray, change of clothing (shirt, shorts, shoes, etc.) and towels. Please note: What you bring in, goes back out with you. Trash cans will be available on site.

Can my dog run? Yes, but we recommend they skip the first loop.  This is a fairly tight trail (usually 2 runners wide), and dogs - as well as humans - can freak each other out.  Usual rules apply, pick up after your pet.

May I push a stroller?  – Yes, paved trail course only!  No, for the dirt trail course as it is too narrow.

What if my teammate shows up late? Not a problem. You and your team will decide who, when, and how each other alternates running loops.

Medals? Everyone receives a Royal Beast medal whether running on a team or solo!

Shirts? Everyone receives a shirt whether on a team or solo! Sublimated shirts are the same design as 2021, there is a no shirt option and save $5.

What if it rains or storms? We are a rain-or-shine event. However, safety is important. If a bad storm with lightning and/or heavy wind moves through, we may have to shut down until the storm passes.

We will use our weather apps to monitor conditions throughout the day.
If weather approaches, we will officially pause timing/scoring and all runners will have to stop after they finish their loop.
All canopies/tents will be lowered for safety. Please have tents/canopies staked or weighed down.
Once the weather passes, we will restart the event but we will NOT restart the clock. Therefore if the weather causes a 40 minute pause, the event now becomes a “11 hour and 20 minute race”.

Where do I park? Free parking is available at Southeastway Park, however space is limited so please car pool.

Trail Route? 2022 route is between a 1-2-mile loop. It is mostly on packed dirt trails with some paved trails. Weather conditions may cause water puddles to cross and slick muddy areas.  You may run on the grass next to the paved path if you prefer. Exact Route will not be determined until the day before the race as rain can wipe out sections of the course.

Paved Route? Is about a 2 mile loop around Southeastway Park.

Elevation?  Expect a couple of fairly short but steep hills.  There is some elevation gain on both the trail and paved course.

Packet Pick Up? Race Day Only, Opens at 6:00am.

Are spectators welcome? Yes!  They can cheer you on, give you supplies, or take naps...  However, if they want food, please Add On Spectator Pass during your registration.  For 12 Hour spectator pass; $20/spectator pass includes pizza, alcohol & snacks. $15/spectator pass includes  pizza, root beer & snacks.  For 6 Hour or 3 Hour spectator pass; $15/spectator pass includes snacks and alcohol.  $10/spectator pass includes snacks and root beer.
