Description
Please join us for a special reunion of Hike for a Cure families and friends as we take on two mighty challenges:
- Hike from Yosemite valley to "Histio Lookout" overlooking Half Dome
- Support and encourage Histio families and researchers fighting histiocytosis
Hiking 18 mi and 4800 ft is hard. Fighting Histiocytosis is so much harder.
Together we can do it!
About the Hike
Our 22nd and *final* H4AC was in 2022. Since then early October has been kind of quiet, so we decided it is time for a H4AC reunion! We invite you to join us in celebrating more than two decades of amazing times with this wonderful community.
Arrive in Yosemite on Friday or Saturday. Saturday night we'll gather for dinner at the Curry Village cafeteria, included in your registration, and then move to the amphitheater for the H4AC Opening presentation. There will be much to remember and celebrate that night.
Sunday morning we leave before dawn to tackle one of Yosemite's most challenging hikes. With each step along the 18 miles of trail we are reminded of the exhausting, seemingly never-ending journey faced by those fighting histiocytosis. This hike is hard - no doubt. Fighting histiocytosis is so much harder.
Sunday night over dinner we will relax and enjoy our traditional soup and salad dinner, talk over the highlights of the day, and share memories from our previous hikes. Finally on Monday, we pack up and say goodbye to our histio friends.
Donations from hikers and friends and family are always welcome. The researchers at Texas Children's Hospital are continuing to advance the cures they have developed for histiocytosis and to support patients fighting this challenging disease. Once you complete registration you will be invited to make a contribution to the Histio Cure Foundation, who continues to help fund their critical research.
The objective of Hike For A Cure was always to have a cure for histiocytosis in place by 2021 - twenty years after that first hike. We are proud that this community, in partnership with the Histio Cure Foundation and the researchers at Texas Children's Hospital, have reached that goal. We look forward to seeing you in Yosemite this year to recognize those years of work and celebrate your success!

Hike Weekend Details
Departing before dawn and hiking 18 miles and 4800 vertical feet to Histio Lookout (our special spot on the Clouds Rest trail) in one day is an intense, physical challenge. Yet in the company of enthusiastic and determined friends, family and kids you may be quite surprised by what you can accomplish. Working together we will once again accomplish something bigger than what we can do working alone: surmount a daunting physical challenge and provide support for the families and researchers fighting histiocytosis.
