FLORIDA SWIMMING OPEN WATER CHAMPIONSHIPS #2 Clermont - ZONE TEAM SELECTION - OPEN WATER SERIES

The Florida Swimming Open Water Championship #2 will take place on Sunday, April 30th at Lake Mineola, Clermont, FL.  Open to any athlete who is 2022 USA-Swimming/FL Swimming registered athletes.  

This event will be used to select the 2022 FL Open Water Zone Team that will compete in the Southern Zone Open Water Championships in DeLeon Springs, FL on May 13-15, 2022.  Florida Swimming swimmers competing in the Junior and National Open Water Championships in Ft. Myers (April 2nd-3rd) will also be considered.  Acceptance to the OW Zone Team will be at the discretion of the Zone Team Head Coach.  Selection will include 6 Female and 6 Male athletes from each age group (11-12, 13-14, 15-16, Senior).  

The age of the swimmer for the Southern Zone Open Water Championships will be the swimmer’s age as of December 31, 2022.

If a 12 year old turning 13 before December 31st and wants to be considered for selection for 13-14 roster, the athlete must swim in the Senior 5K division. The swimmer will be scored in the Senior age group but the times will be considered in the 13-14 age group selection.

If a 10 year old turning 11 before May 13th and wants to be considered for selection for the 11-12 roster, the coach must contact Cashel Mack zookeeper5721@gmail.com for entry.

The FL Swimming OW Zone Team will travel as a team and the cost for the trip will be $285/per athlete.  The fee will include transportation, hotel accommodations, entry fees and outfitting.

Athletes interested in the FL OW Zone team must complete the registration form on our website – www.floridaswimming.org – registration will open April 6th and close on April 12th.  Please select the BLUE box for OW Zone team – registration will require a $100 non-refundable deposit unless you are NOT selected to the team.    Families will be contacted upon selection to confirm acceptance.
