Description
The 19th Annual Run for Sight 5K, presented by Shoreline Vision, will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 8:30AM. Join us in one of the most beautiful, picturesque parks along Lake Michigan - at Pere Marquette Park to benefit The Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ABVI)!
For over one hundred years, the ABVI has carried out the mission to “help individuals with low vision or blindness thrive in a sighted world.” Each year, ABVI serves around 1,000 children and adults from across the state of Michigan, providing programs and assistance for people living with visual impairments or blindness.
PACKET PICKUP:
Friday: 3-6pm Packet Pickup at Shoreline Vision located at 1266 E. Sherman Blvd
Saturday: 7-8:15am Registration and Packet Pickup in the parking lot between the Coast Guard Station and Margaret Drake Elliot Park
RACE START TIMES:
8:28 AM - 5K Handcycle start time.
8:30 AM - 5K Run/Walk start time.
9:15 AM - 1K Deck Dash Kids Run.
9:30am- Course Closes
10:00am (or as soon as they are finalized) - Awards Table Opens in the parking lot between the Coast Guard Station and Margaret Drake Elliot Park
The 5K Run is competitive and the 5K Walk is family and dog friendly but remember; dogs must be on a leash and picked up after.

The t-shirt order will be placed on Friday, August 8. Athletes registering after August 8 will not be guaranteed a race shirt or preferred size. A limited quantity will be available on race day on a first come, first serve basis.
IMPORTANT PARKING UPDATE:
The City of Muskegon changed their paid parking fees at Pere Marquette in November 2024. Daily passes on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday are $20. Season passes for non-residents are $40. Racers will find a number of kiosks located near parking spaces that will take credit cards and coins. Dispensed parking passes must be displayed on the driver’s side dashboard.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
In the event of severe weather, we will delay and still hold the event safely, if possible. We will resume as long as we have time before roads need to reopen to traffic at 9:30 a.m. Our event will be cancelled if severe weather threatens the safety of our participants, and if delaying is not an option. In the event we have to cancel, we offer no refunds. Your registration will be considered a donation to the ABVI program.
