Run, walk, bike, etc. as far as you'd like
This event is your race, your pace, your journey- it doesn't have to be a 5K. It's your any k, any way.
You choose whether to walk, run, bike, swim, hike, skateboard, rollerblade, or a mix of multiple ways.
You can partake in your activity for any distance or length of time.
You can challenge yourself or others or make it a leisurely activity. This event is over the course of two weeks; you don’t have to do your whole event in one, two, or even three days. Spread it out however it works best for you. It is completely customizable to your life, what you can do mentally, and what you can do physically.
This event is a great way to memorialize someone important to you with our custom memorial race bib.
You can have a photo of someone important to you that has died on the back of your race bib.
Participate in your self-customized event as a new or ongoing tradition in memory of someone by yourself, or with family or friends.
A race bib is usually for an in-person 5K, but it's a special tradition we have carried over to our virtual 5K because of the significance it has for our families.
Scavenger Hunt
This year our scavenger hunt is designed for all ages and walks of life. It's a way to take a break from life and think about someone who has died, your life, what you're grateful for, or anything that comes to mind when prompted to find the scavenger hunt items. Peer-to-Peer Fundraising
This is your opportunity to share your reason(s) for participating in this event. Whether you've lost someone close to you, you are a supporter of Journey of Hope, or you're just finding out about Journey and feel passionate about our cause, you can let the public know by describing this on your page.
You share your fundraising page with your friends, family, and community to ask them to support you as you are supporting Journey of Hope by participating in this event. You are raising money for Journey of Hope and receiving support from others based on your reason for participating.
Types of Peer-to-Peer Fundraisers:
**By default, all registered participants 13 years of age or older are created a peer-to-peer fundraiser.**
Fundraise as an individual: After registration, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to edit your peer-to-peer fundraiser where you can set your goal, upload a photo, and share a message with potential donors.
Fundraise as a team: Create your team at the end of the registration, right before checking out. Set your team's goal, upload a photo, and share a message with potential donors. Each participant will also automatically have an individual fundraiser created. This is just the way the system works. However, only your team fundraiser will be shown on the public list.
Fundraise only: If you aren't interested or unable to participate, you can register as a fundraiser only and still raise money for Journey of Hope! This type of registration is free but does not include a Journey t-shirt, race bib, or race medal. You can, however, still participate in the Gratitude Scavenger Hunt by downloading the list here.
