Mel Williams Memorial Seashore 50K presented by Brooks

RACE DETAILS
COURSE: The 50k starts 8:00 am. This is a 2 loop trail run at First Landing State Park beginning and ending at the boat ramp.
FLUIDS AND FOOD: 2 full aid stations at 64th St and Bald Cypress with various foods, water and Tailwind. You will pass each aid station multiple times. This is a cupless race. It is recommended to carry water bottles and a collapsible cup.
AMENITIES & POST-RACE: Registrants will receive a Brooks shirt. Finishers receive a medal. Post Race party will be held at Smartmouth Brewery Pilot House, 313 32nd St. Virginia Beach, VA from 4:30 - 7:30. One beer ticket and food will be provided to all runners and volunteers.
TIME LIMITS: The 50K starts at 8:00 AM -- There is an 8 hour finish time cut off. Cut off restrictions will apply throughout the race.
AWARDS: Top 3 overall Male and Female, Top 3 Masters Male and Female, and top male and female in following Age groups 29&under/30-39/40-49/50-59/60& over will receive awards!
REGISTRATION: Online registration will be open until Thursday, December 11th, 2025, or until slots fill. NO race day Registration.
STRIDER PLUS/LEGACY RUNNERS: Not Available.
CLUB MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNTS: A Club membership discount of $5.00 is available thru Dec 11th. Discounts are automatically applied on the payment page during registration. You should use the account you used to register for the club to apply for this discount. We will also attempt to match on name/date of birth.
Paper entry forms not available.
PACKET PICKUP: Packet pick up will be available Saturday, Dec. 13th from 1 pm-5 pm at Running Etc. Virginia Beach, 1940 Laskin Rd. #302 Virginia Beach, VA 23454. Race day packet pickup will be available from 7:00 - 7:50am at the start/finish area in First Landing State Park 64th St. Boat Ramp.
REFUNDS: Refund less $25 admin fee until 8/31. No refunds beginning 9/1/24. No transfers, No deferrals.

Entry Fee
$100 before September 1; $125 from September 1st to December 12th. Tidewater Strider members receive a $5 discount. Eighteen (18) is the minimum age to enter.
Refunds and Waitlist
REFUNDS WITH A $25.00 ADMIN FEE AVAILABLE THRU 8/31/2024. NO TRANSFERS, NO DEFERRALS. A waitlist is available and runners will be added from the waitlist until December 12th. When a spot becomes available from the waitlist, you will have 2 days to register or it will then go to the next person on the waitlist.
Time Limits
The race starts at 8:00 AM with a time cutoff at 4:00 PM a limit of 8 hours for official finish. Runners must reach the turnaround at the end of the first loop (16 miles) by 12:15 PM, Aid Station 6 (22 miles) by 1:45 PM and Aid Station 7 (25 miles) by 2:30 PM. These cutoffs are strictly enforced. No official finish will be given if runners do not exit these Aid Stations by these times. Live tracking updates will be provided by Endeavor Running on race day.
Directions to Race Start
From I-64, take Northampton Boulevard (Route 13) to the Shore Drive exit; turn right and continue on Shore Drive. Shore Drive will turn into Atlantic Avenue. Once onto Atlantic Avenue, turn right onto 64th Street and continue into the park to the end of 64th Street at the Narrows boat ramp area.
Inclement Weather or National Security
The Race Director and the Tidewater Striders reserve the right to modify or cancel events as needed in the interest of safety or access restrictions to the venue. No refunds can be given in the event of modification or cancellation.

You may signup to volunteer here. Volunteer Seashore 50k Lots of opportunities to help at aid stations or other areas on course. We appreciate your help. The race can not go on without everyone's involvement. A shirt and one beer ticket(21&over) will be provided for all volunteers.
