How to create fundraiser
New to JackFest this year is our Superhero Fundraising Challenge, where teams will compete for some amazing prizes (see below). Create or join a team, spread the word to friends and family, and help us raise money for two incredible local causes!
Steps To Create/Join A Fundraising Team
1. You must be an individual fundraiser in order to create or join a team
2. Click on "become a fundraiser" and follow the steps listed there (option to edit message and add fundraising goal)
3. Scroll all the way down on the same page to where it says team fundraiser
4. If you are joining a team that was already created, find the team in the drop down menu and then hit "set up fundraiser" OR
If you are creating a team, under "create a team fundraiser", slide the button over to YES and create a name (option to edit message and add fundraising goal) and then hit "set up fundraiser"
Grand Prize: A 1 week stay in 2024 at an oceanfront beach house in Surf City, NC. The house has direct access from its back deck to the beautiful Topsail Island beach. 4 bedrooms (sleeps 8 people).
Grand Prize: UVA Athletics Package including 4 front-row tickets to a men's basketball game at JPJ, a pre-game tour of the arena, and a signed basketball.
Grand Prize: UVA Athletics Package including 4 pre-game passes to get on the field before the Duke football game on November 18th at Scott Stadium, 4 tickets to the game, a signed football and a chance to attend football practice.
Other Amazing Prizes Include:
-A round of golf for 4 at the newly renovated Birdwood Golf Course (includes carts)
-1 Night's Stay in the cottages at Fine Creek Brewing in Powhatan + a Private Tasting of some of their amazing beer.
Your participation in JackFest raises funds for two critical organizations that keep families together as they face serious childhood illnesses: the Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville and the pediatric oncology program at the University of Virginia Children’s Hospital.
Our local Ronald McDonald House serves an average of 425 families each year, providing lodging, meals, transportation, and a community of support as they travel far from home for critical medical care here in Charlottesville. The average length of stay is 3 weeks, but many families stay much longer.
Donations of every size are important and appreciated. As your team starts to raise money it can help to
share what their donations buy for families at the House.
● $15 – Beautiful Bubby's Book Program: Provides a credit for an audio book of choice for one of our families.
● $25 – 1 Day of Snacks & Coffee for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House
● $50 – 1 Day of Food Supplies for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
● $100 – 1 Night's Stay at the Ronald McDonald House for the family of a sick child. Families
stay at the House on average for about 3 weeks.
● $250 – Love Sandwich Lunches: Provides one week of lunches, which equates to 75 lunches on a Friday for the families on the pediatric floor (includes a sandwich, chips, fresh veggies and dip, fresh fruit and a dessert) of the UVA Children's Hospital.
● $550 – The Love Connection: One quarter (3 months) of internet for families to keep them connected with their loved ones, their workplaces, and with the video link devices set up by the hospital so they can view/hear their little one when they are at the House.
● $750 – Adopt a Room for the Week: That is, covering the costs for a family to stay at the House for a week.
● $1,000 – Feed The House for a Week: That is, providing dinner for 18 families for 6 nights (McDonald's treats the families with dinner each Tuesday, the 7th night).
● $1,250 – Wrap Them In Love: Covers the cost of clean linens and towels for the families for one month.
● $3,000 – Mission Partner: Covers all costs for one family to stay at the House for an entire month.
