Corrals
Corrals help the race start smoothly. While the race will officially start at 8:30 a.m., we ask that you would line up in the order of the corral that best suits your expected finish time. This allows those who wish to run competitively to get in front and avoid walkers or strollers, while those who are walking will avoid collisions with runners from behind. Since this race is chip timed via bibs, your time will only start once you personally cross the start line; even if you are part of a corral that is further back, your time will not be affected.
Our corrals are as follows, from closest to the start line to farthest from start line:
Adaptive Start:
This corral is for those using any adaptive equipment (handcycles, racing wheelchairs, etc.) or runners in need of physical assistance, guiding or a guide runner. This corral will start 5 minutes before other corrals, with an 8:25 a.m. start time. If you plan on using a guide runner, please contact jordana@lexhabitat.org for more information on registering them at no additional cost.
Sprinters:
This corral is for those who will be running competitively. Expected finish time of sub-16 minutes (1.86 miles). This group will line up closest to the start line.
Striders:
This corral is for those who wish to run/jog the race, but less competitively than the sprinters level. Expected finish time of 16-22 minutes (1.86 miles). This group will line up behind the sprinters.
Shufflers:
This corral is for those who wish to walk, talk, and have a leisurely pace. This corral is also perfect for those bringing their pups! Expected finish time of 22+ minutes (1.86 miles). This group will line up behind the striders.
Strollers:
This group is for those who will be pushing strollers, both runners and walkers. We ask that you begin at the very back so that the pack has time to open up a little bit before introducing strollers to the course (this ensures the safety of those with, in, and around the strollers). If you plan on passing with a stroller, please give a verbal cue ("Behind, left," "passing on the right," etc) to the people in front of you.
