Description

Four on the Fourth is the first race of the 3 race series,  Le Tour de Carrboro. The 4 mile race starts at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4, at McDougle Middle School, 900 Old Fayetteville Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27516.
This is the 19th running of Le Tour, and we hope you will join us to support our Community Partners.

Registration and Bib Pickup

Online registration will close on Sunday, July 2, at midnight.
In-person registration and bib pickup will be available at Fleet Feet in Carrboro on Monday, July 3, from 12-6:30 pm.
You may also pick up your bib and register on race day morning at McDougle, 6:30-7:45 am.
Race entries are not refundable and are not transferable, i.e., you cannot give your bib number to someone else. By doing so, the results (awards, age group, and overall) will be incorrect.

Course

The race begins in front of McDougle Middle School, winds through downtown Carrboro and its neighborhoods, and finishes on the McDougle track.
Click here for a map of the course.

Parking

Please carpool and arrive early for parking. There are 3 lots in front of McDougle and a fourth lot behind the school (off of Hillsborough, and the lot to use if you are later than 7:50 am, since Old Fayetteville will be closed).
There is additional parking available at Hank Anderson Community Park, located off of Highway 54.

Awards

Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female winners in the following categories: Open and Masters (40+), 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-55, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+. Open and Masters winners are not eligible for age group awards. The top 3 winners in the Athena (female, 160+ lbs) and Clydesdale (male, 220+ lbs) categories will also receive awards.
As always, our unique pottery awards are crafted by local artist, Janet Resnik. Overall and top age group winners will also receive specially blended coffee from Carrboro Coffee Roasters.

For the Kids

"Little Firecracker" races are FREE for children aged 2-9 and will be held after the race at approximately 9:30 (after the awards ceremony).

Stroller and Pet Policies

Baby strollers and joggers are permitted, but for the safety of all participants please start at the back behind the runners and walkers.
Pets are not permitted on the race course.

Walkers are welcome!

We encourage everyone to join us at our events. If you want to walk the course, that's great! However, if the trailing police car passes you, you must follow normal pedestrian rules -- move to the sidewalk or side of the road. Our timing service tries to capture the time for everyone who crosses the finish line, so even if the police close the course, you should receive a finish time.
