RACE DETAILS / START

• What time does my race start?

  • The KIDS 1k race starts at 6:30 p.m. at the finishline. 
  • The 5k race starts at 7:00 p.m. SHARP.  The race is held at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York (start/finish at the Field House, Hempstead Turnpike)

• What time should I arrive?

  • We suggest arriving no later than 6:00 p.m.

• Where is the start line?

  • 1k KIDS Run starts at the finishline.

  • 5k Run starts next near the Field House

• Where are the restrooms located?

  • Park restrooms are open and located near the finishline and packet pickup area

PACKET PICK-UP

• Where is Packet Pick-up?

  • MONDAY AUGUST 10th, 2026
    TIME & LOCATION TBD.

    5k Race Packet pickup 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Eisenhower Park, Start /Finish is at the Field House. Hempstead Tpke. East Meadow, NY US 11554

Please do NOT call Packet Pick-Up locations, as they do NOT have information on the event. CLICK HERE and email us your question, and we will be sure to get back to you ASAP.

• I can't make it to Packet Pick-up. Can a friend pick up my race number? 

  • Yes, coaches, teammates, friends, or family members to pick up a packet for the participating athlete. The person picking up the packet must have a copy of the athlete’s PHOTO ID.

• Can I register at packet pick-up?

  • Yes, we will have registration and will accept CREDIT CARD ONLY. However, NO PERSONAL CHECKS will be accepted.

REFUND

• I can’t race, can I get a refund for my entry?

  • THERE ARE NO REFUNDS

  • RaceAwesome will now allow athletes to defer their entry to the following year's race. This has to be done 7 days prior to Race Day. There is a $10 fee to defer your entry to the following year. 
  • You can transfer at no cost and at any time to the Virtual Race and your SWAG will be mailed out to you after the Race.
  • If the race is canceled or postponed for any reason including a Pandemic / Force Majeure / Acts of God / Acts of Terrorism / Weather etc. all athletes will be transferred to the Virtual Race and your SWAG will be mailed out to you. 

INJURED AND OR CAN'T RACE

• Email us at RaceAwesome@RaceAwesome.com and explain your injury. We will then offer you the opportunity to come and VOLUNTEER at the event you registered for. In return for volunteering at the event, we will roll your entry over to the same race the following year at no charge. We don't require a doctor's note, honesty is just fine for us.

• Are there cut-off times?

  • No, there are no cut off times for this event.

• What is the course elevation?

  •  Click on the course map links above and use the interactive maps. They have the elevation!

• What's on the course for Nutrition? How often are there water stops? Are there portajohns?

  • There is one water stop on the course about Half way through the run. There are no portojohns on the course. There are many public restrooms.

ATHLETE TRACKING & TIMING

• Can my family/Spectators track me?

  • There is no live app tracking for this event.

• Are there Timing/split mats?

  • No, there are no split mats.

• How do I get my results and splits?

  • Race results are posted LIVE online at https://runsignup.com/Race/Results/60910#resultSetId-166628;perpage:100 If you signed up for TEXT messaging, they will be sent to you soon after you cross the finish line. 

• Is the race chip-timed or gun-timed?

  • This is a chip-timed event..

BAG DROP

• Is there a bag check/drop for these events?

  • No, we do not offer a bag drop at this event.

RACE DAY PARKING.

• Where can I park at Eisenhower Park? 

  • You can park in any open parking field inside Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York (start/finish at the Field House, Hempstead Turnpike). Best Parking Fields are #1, #2 & #4

SPECTATORS. 

• Can my family/friends see the start of the race?

  • YES, spectators are welcome. The start line and finish line are right next to each other.

• Can my spectators bring pets?

  • “only service dogs are allowed”

• Can my spectators get into the park after the race starts?

  • Yes.

PHOTOS

• How much does the digital athlete photo package cost?

  • all photos are FREE

• How do I get my AWESOME FREE photos?

  • Over 2,000 photos will be taken. They need to be sorted and tagged with bib#'s. They will be available to download by the Wednesday after the race right here on RunSignUp with your results. https://runsignup.com/Race/Photos/NY/EastMeadow/NCPDPOMEMORIAL5k

  • We will also have candid shots, and these photos will be published on our Facebook and social media pages. 

  • Be sure that your bib# shows in the photo by placing your bib on your front torso or chest. This way you can easily find your photos with a simple name or bib# search, right here on RunSignUp under the photo's menu tab above! MISCELLANEOUS

• My shirt doesn't fit, can I change sizes?

  • You can exchange sizes of unworn shirts after your event/race is complete, ONLY at the RACE-SITE, and only if we have extra shirts!

• I decided not to race, can I get my shirt?

  • Yes, but only if you come to one of the pickups. We will not mail shirts post-race if you are not in the Virtual Race.

• Will I get a finisher medal?

  • There are no finisher medals for our 5K events.

• Who gets an award?

  • Top three overall Male and Female. 
    Individual Age Groups, TOP 3 in each AGE GROUP 

    8 & under (youth), 9-13 (youth), 14-18 (High School), 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+

    Challenged, First & Runners Up (5K Run).
