Come run one or all five of the best Cross Country races in Upstate NY for Open and Masters runners. Individual and Club members compete for individual age group prizes and team awards at each race. Members of Upstate NY Clubs also compete for Series points, awards, and bragging rights. Series individual and team champions will be recognized at Championship Day on Sunday, November 6th.
These races are for the most experienced runners as well as beginners to the sport of Cross Country running. It’s fun for all and anyone may participate. The PGXC series is now in its 32nd year and was started in 1990 by the late Peter Glavin. Participants earn individual points and club points in various age group competitions at each race. The five races are hosted by local clubs in locations throughout the Western NY.
Series Awards: Overall winners M/W - $100 Wegman's gift card, Age Group winners in10year increments - $50 Wegman's gift card, Top 10 in every age group - Wagner Vineyards Riesling, Top 3 teams in each age group - TBD
USTAF Niagara Awards: Niagara XC Championships $400 stipend for winning Open M/W teams to attend the USATF Club Nationals in San Fran on December 10th, 2022
Registration: All runners are strongly encouraged to pre-register online and provide a phone number that could be used for contact tracing.
Masks: Masks are recommended when social distancing cannot be maintained
Unexpected Illness: Feel ill at all - stay home. We can refund or give a voucher for the next race. Get better and join us next time.
NYS Covid Rules: The series will abide by the rules and regulations set forth by public health authorities and state and local governments
Race Etiquette: All Races are outside and widely spaced
Finish Line Area: Runners must move through the finish line chute into open areas to maintain social distancing
Post-race: All food refreshments will be single serving items
Awards: Please give respect to announcers so that people may spread out more than usual, yet still enjoy their names being heard and recognized for their achievements
