This beginner-friendly training guide is tailored specifically for newcomers looking to complete their first 5K. The Neches Labor Day 5K is fully walker-friendly, welcoming participants of all fitness levels to join in the community fun.

Week 1

Tuesday: Run / Walk 10 Minutes
Thursday: Run / Walk 13 Minutes
Saturday: Run / Walk 1 Mile (Pace doesn't matter)

Week 2

Tuesday: Run / Walk 16 Minutes
Thursday: Run / Walk 19 Minutes
Saturday: Run / Walk 2 Miles (Pace doesn't matter)

Week 3

Tuesday: Run / Walk 16 Minutes
Thursday: Run / Walk 19 Minutes
Saturday: Run / Walk 2 Miles (Pace doesn't matter)

Week 4

Tuesday: Run / Walk 16 Minutes
Thursday: Run / Walk 19 Minutes
Saturday: Run / Walk 2 Miles (Pace doesn't matter)

Week 5

Tuesday: Run / Walk 16 Minutes
Thursday: Run / Walk 19 Minutes

Week 6 & Race Weekend

Tuesday: Run / Walk 16 Minutes
Thursday: Run / Walk 19 Minutes
Saturday / Sunday: Enjoy your race! Don't stress about your finish time and just have fun.
