About Heaven Can Wait 5K
Since 2000, this community celebration has been raising funds for Sara’s Project, a fund of St. Charles Foundation to provide education, early detection and support service to ease the challenge of breast cancer for people in Central and Eastern Oregon.
Historically, Heaven Can Wait raises over $100,000 a year to provide love, support and compassion for breast cancer patients and their families. Your participation provides funds to programs that help provide free wigs, post-surgical bras, transportation, education of early detection and massage therapies for those in need.
Please consider creating your own fundraiser either as an individual or a team and draw on the power of your collective network of friends and families to help us reach our goal.

New location for 2025 & 2026!
We are excited to announce that Heaven Can Wait 5k will take place at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds in 2025 and 2026. Due to the City of Redmond’s Central Dry Canyon Infrastructure Improvement Project, the Dry Canyon will be unavailable, and after careful evaluation, the Fairgrounds emerged as the best venue to host this cherished community event.
With over 300 acres of space, the Fairgrounds provides many of the key elements that Redmond High School offers; ample parking, built-in facilities, and a safe closed-course experience. This move ensures that HCW continues to be a seamless, accessible, and welcoming event for all.
We recognize that a new venue means a new course, and we are excited about the opportunities this presents. With full access to the property, we are designing a route that prioritizes scenery, accessibility and participant experience.
While the location may be different, our mission remains the same—bringing the community together to support Sara’s Project and breast cancer patients in Central and Eastern Oregon. We look forward to gathering at the Fairgrounds for another incredible event and can’t wait to see you there!

Description
Heaven Can Wait 5K draws hundreds together with a shared mission to raise funds for Sara's Project, a fund of St. Charles Foundation. Sara's Project provides education, early detection and support services to ease the challenges of breast cancer for people in Central and Eastern Oregon.
Heaven Can Wait was founded in 2000 by Charlene Levesque, a breast cancer survivor. Charlene's diagnosis prompted Central Oregon Running Klub (CORK) to begin formulating the idea of a women's event that would promote early detection of cancer and encourage a healthy active lifestyle.
Your participation in Heaven Can Wait:
* Raises funds for Sara's Project.
* Educates the community about the importance of early detection of breast cancer.
* Encourages community members to walk or run for their health.
* Brings the community together in a celebration of life.
