Wyoming Valley Striders 5K

WVS 5K - November 10, 2024

We are thrilled to announce our brand new 5K race, happening alongside our 20K Run on November 10th at the Susquehanna Warrior Trail in Shickshinny.

This 5K race will also serve as the goal race for our WVS 5K Training Program, kicking off on September 11th. 

Registration

• Pre-entry fee: WVS members $20, non-members $25
  Price increases 8/16/24: WVS members $25, non-members $30

• WVS members will be emailed the discount code in the next newsletter. 
  (Our race discount codes are for current members of the WVS and should not be shared.)  

• Non-members can purchase for $12 a membership in the store and then receive an email reply with the race discount code to use during race registration.

• Entry fee includes a t-shirt for entrants who register by end of day on October 12, 2024. 

• Runners must pre-register online. Race day entries will not be accepted.

• Online registration will close Friday, November 8, 2024 at noon or earlier if race cap is reached.

• Entry fee is not refundable or transferable.

Race Day

• Pre-entry packet pick-up will begin at 7:15 am under the pavilion at Oak & North Canal Streets.
  (Follow Rt. 11 to the old Curry Donuts (this sign has been taken down) in Shickshinny and turn onto Oak Street) Directions

Start

• Race start is at 9:10 am.
  (20K runners will start at 9:00 am)

• This race will be chip timed.

Course

• Out and back on the Susquehanna Warrior Trail.

Hydration:

• Individual water bottles will be available at the finish.

Note

• If the race is cancelled due to any directives by the PA Governor, the hosted facility, or the WVS, 2024 pre-entries will be deferred to next year. No refunds will be given.

• This race is open to anyone. You do not need to be a WVS member to run. You can however become a member or renew your membership during the checkout process. Online memberships are $12 per year. Membership cards are sent within a week of receipt or given race day if received 14 days prior to event or not yet expired.

• The race directors reserve the right to accept or reject any entry.
