Race Day Instructions

  1. T-SHIRTS: If you have previously ordered your t-shirt, you can pick it up on November 27 between 3:00-4:00 PM at McNeill Park or at the registration table on race day November 28. You can also order additional T-shirts at the STORE.
  2. PARKING: Parking will be limited. Please consult the parking map and park in designated areas. The PKS Police will close Oakleaf Drive, both east and west of the bridge near McNeil Park, 15 minutes prior to the start of the event.
  3. COURSE MAP: Please review the 5K Course Map before the run or the Dog Stroll Map. It will help you to understand the many turns along the route. We will have a lead biker for the 5K run. Please also follow the signs that will point you along the route and on the golf course as well. If you are walking the 5K, please remember that there are no dogs or baby strollers allowed on the golf course.
  4. ARRIVING AT THE EVENT: If you have registered for the race, there is no need to "check in" prior to the event. Come directly to the starting line on the bridge at McNeil Park by 8:15 AM for both events. The race will start PROMPTLY @ 8:30 AM. We will start the Dog Stroll immediately following the start of the 5K.
  5. FINISH LINE: please stay in line at the finish so we can score the age group winners...this is just a "fun run" so let's be courteous to all runners. Water, bananas and donuts will be available.
  6. DOOR PRIZES:  If your name is drawn at random for one of the gifts, we will also have those winners posted at the registration table at 10 AM. If your name is drawn and you are not present, you will be contacted by email and we will mail you the award.
  7. RAIN OR SHINE: We will hold the race, rain or shine. Let's hope for good weather.
  8. VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED!!! If you can volunteer to help support the event, please register for the task where you would like to help! All volunteers receive a FREE T-shirt.
  9. DONATIONS TO THE ANGEL TREE: You can still make donations to the Kayak for the Warriors Angel Tree through the event website. We will also have a collection bucket at the race as well.
  10. SAFETY FIRST: We will have over 400 people at the event. Please be mindful of everyone who will be walking along the public streets. DRIVE SLOWLY entering or leaving the event.
