Why raise money for the K-9's?
This is the third year that RexRun For PAWSitivity 2024 5K Run/Walk has benefited Back The Blue K-9 Force. K-9 Rex, a three-year-old black lab is the inspiration for this event. K-9 Rex now has a brother Zeke and a nephew Riley who are following in his footsteps! In April 2023, K-9 Bear and K-9 Otis, nephews of Rex were sworn in as Arapahoe County Sheriff Department Officers!
As therapy K-9's, they go with their handlers to local schools to primarily help students with special needs. Their goal is to support children experiencing stressful situations by offering them comfort when they need it most, particularly those struggling with depression or anxiety. 100% of all net profits go to the law enforcement K-9's through Back The Blue K-9 Force by providing funding for therapy K-9s, their protective gear and medical needs.
Apprehension K-9 units, supported by the Back The Blue K-9 Force, are trained not only in apprehension but also in detecting explosives, narcotics, and electronics. Raising support to honor their commitment to our community ensures the safety of both the K-9s and their handlers.
