Your role is to help staff unload and set up equipment for areas such as registration tables, volunteer tables, set signage, auction tables, stage, and Fitness area. This shift begins at 6am.

Arch Set up and Tear down High Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

We need 2 volunteers to help Timberline Racing Company set up and tear the arch at the start (7:00am) and finish (9:00am) of the run/walk.

Kid's Fun Zone

Your role will be to help where needed with set-up and tear down of obstacle course, bouncy houses, and any yard games; crowd control and keeping the area clean.

Parking

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Your role will be to direct traffic to the parking lots on the East and South sides of the building. The shift will begin at 6:00am until 10:00am.

Floaters/Runners High Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Your role will depend on what is needed the most on the day of the event. It could consist of:
Answering general questions and giving directions to attendees
Replacement for no-show volunteers
Racecourse
Water stations
Setup/teardown
Vendor assistance
Volunteer room
Monitor cleanliness and trash

Greeters High Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Your role is to greet participants as they arrive at the event, welcoming them to the event and answering any questions. You will be given an overview of the event space upon arrival. You will need to arrive at 7:30am until 11:00am

Vendor Check-in High Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

6:00am - 10:00am: Your role is to be in the vendor area to answer any questions that should arise as well as help the vendor with booth teardown, if necessary, and help with loading.

Vendor Assistance

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

6:00am - 10am shift: Your role is to meet the vendor at the unloading location and help them unload and setup their booth. You should remain in the vendor area your entire shift times if any questions or problems should arise.

9:30am-1pm shift: Your role is to be in the vendor area to answer any questions that should arise as well as help the vendor with booth teardown, if necessary, and help with loading.

Volunteer Check-in High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Your role is to keep the tables stocked with snacks and drinks throughout the day as well as keep the room tidy and clean. You will need to answer any questions volunteers may have.

Volunteers will be able to leave valuables in the volunteer room. We need two people to safeguard these items continuously throughout the day.

Registration High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Your role is to check in each runner and walker, giving them their registration bag, with bib and timer chip. You must make sure their waiver is signed. You will give them their T-shirt and direct them to the starting line.

Another position open is troubleshooting technical issues, such as computer glitches and registration problems. You must have an understanding of the database system we are using (additional training is available).

You will also be in charge of the distribution of K-9 certificates and badges after the swearing in ceremony.

Race Course High Priority

You must be 13 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

We need your help in the following areas:

Set up: You will need to set up the arch at the start/finish line, set tables for medals and set up signage along the course. Shift starts at 7 am.

Course Monitor: Your role will be to keep spectators off the course and make sure it is cleared of any debris throughout the race.

Crowd control: You will be responsible for directing the runners and walkers to a marked off area at the starting line.

Finish line: Your role is to hand a medal to each participant along with a goodie bag as they pass the finish line. You will direct them to a post-race area to have photos taken.

Along the route: Cheer! Cheer! Cheer! We have cowbells, signs, balloons and whistles to help you cheer them on!

Water Station High Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

This volunteer task is full.

Details

Your role will include setting up your water station (table and cups) filling coolers, restocking water during race and clean up area after the last participant has passed as well as passing out water to the runner/walker.

Live and Silent Auction High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Live Auction: 10am-12pm
Check-out table: You will check out the winning bidders and give them a receipt for the purchase. A seated job.

Wrapping: You will bubble wrap items for travel, if necessary.

Spotters in the crowd: As a bid is won, your role will be to take the auction item and the winning bidder to the check-out table.

Helping the auctioneer: Your role will be to help the auctioneer maintain control and answer questions.

Record keeper: You will need to keep an accurate hand-written record of every item that has been won and purchased. (A seated job).

Security: You will be responsible your entire shift for protecting all auction items.

Silent Auction:
Your role will be to help set up the baskets and items on the tables with clipboards, bid sheets and pens. (7:30am)

Floater: Answering any questions that the participants may have or contact one volunteer for the answer.

Spotters As a bid is won (11:00am), your role will be to take the auction item and the winning bidder to the check-out table for payment.

Security: You will be responsible for protecting all auction items.

Tear down and Clean up

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Your role will be to help tear down and load equipment, as well as take down signs, registration tables, volunteer tables, auction tables, stage, and remove all trash. An important part of this position is to ensure the area is thoroughly cleaned when leaving.

Please check either the morning shift (6:30-10am) or afternoon shift (9:30am-2pm) or all day shift (6:00am until 1pm). This allows people to participate in the 5K as well as volunteer. We will contact you for the times you would like to work.
