Q: Can I use any swim stroke in the pool, i.e., backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke?
A: Yes
Q: Can I use a snorkel for the swim?
A: Yes
Q: Can I use fins or paddles for the swim?
A: No
Q: Are swim caps required?
A: Yes. Your race number will be noted on your swim cap and volunteers will use this information to identify you when you enter and exit the pool. Swim caps will be provided at packet pick-up.
Q: What if I don’t know if I want to swim or walk the swim portion of the event?
A: We will need to know when you register if you will be walking or swimming so we can have you start in the appropriate pool. You can always start swimming and walk if you get tired or need to rest.
Q: Can I change my mind the day of the event if I want to swim or walk the swim portion?
A: No. Specific pools will be designated for swimmers and walkers. Participants will need to decide if they will swim or walk when they register.
Q: Can I wear swim/water socks if I'm walking in the pool?
A: Yes. Water socks are allowed.
Q: Can I wear my earbuds on the bike and/or run/walk?
A: No. For safety reasons, ear buds or any kind of headphones are not allowed. Participants will need to be able to hear other participants and volunteers throughout the course.
Q: Do I have to wear a helmet to do the bike portion of the event?
A: YES, no helmet, no bike ride. The chin strap must be fastened before leaving the transition area.
Q: Can I ride my recumbent bike or non-electric trike for the event?
A: Yes
Q: Can I ride my e-bike for the event?
A: No. Electrically assisted bicycles are not permitted.
Q: What if I get a flat on the bike course or my bike breaks down?
A: It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure their bike is in good working condition for the event and riders will be responsible for carrying their own flat repair kits. If a flat cannot be repaired, or a bike breaks down, volunteers driving the course will pick up the participant and their bike and drive them back to the transition area. The participant may continue with the run portion of the course, however, they will not be eligible for awards.
Q: Will there be a water station on the bike course?
A: No. Please be sure to bring your own water for the bike course.
Q: Will there be a water station at transition?
A: Yes
Q: How will I know where to go on the bike and run course?
A: Maps are available on the registration website and volunteers will be on the course on race day.
Q: Will there be a water station on the run/walk course?
A: Yes. There will be one water station at the halfway/turnaround point on the run/walk course.
Q: Can I bring my dog with me on the run course?
A: No. For safety reasons for all participants, pets will not be allowed on the course.
Q: Can I register after the cutoff or on the day of the race?
A: No. Unfortunately, all registrations must be completed by the March 5 registration deadline.
Q: What if I want to participate in a relay but I don’t have a team?
A: Please contact Dawn Evans at Dawn.Evans@Robson.com and she will do her best to connect you with others.
Q: What if I get hurt?
A: Eloy Fire Department will be on standby during the event and volunteers on the course will call for help if needed.
