Swim

The swim/walk portion of the event will be 400 yards (8 laps/16 segments) and will take place in the indoor and outdoor pools.  We'll use the estimated swim/walk time you noted on your registration form to let you know when you will enter the pool. On race day, you may practice/warm-up in the recreation area of the outdoor pool - please leave the swim lanes open. 
 
Each lane will have two (2) swimmers/walkers per lane. Swimmers/walkers will start at the same end of the pool and will swim/walk back and forth on their side of the lane until they have completed the 400 yards (8 laps/16 segments).  On the day of the event, you will start your swim/walk when the Timer and Swim Lane Coordinator (SLC) on the pool deck indicates it is time for you to enter the pool. No diving or jumping into the pool, please sit on the edge of the pool and slide into your lane.  Please let the Timer know when you are ready and they will start your time.  The SLC will help you keep track of your laps.
 
When you have completed all 400 yards/8 laps, please exit the pool either where you entered, or by the steps closest to your lane.  If using the steps, PLEASE be careful when crossing active swim lanes when exiting the pool.
