The 2027 Governor’s Cup Road Race is bringing exciting changes designed to make race day better than ever!

We’re thrilled to announce that the Governor’s Cup is moving to Finlay Park, creating a new home for our Finish Line Festival and giving runners, families, and spectators an even better place to celebrate after crossing the finish line. The start and finish will be located on Taylor Street at the entrance to Finlay Park, putting the excitement of race day right in the heart of downtown Columbia.

We’re also introducing a new format for our Kids’ Main Street Mile. In 2027, the kids’ event will become a fun run on Saturday, April 10, following the Half Marathon and 5K—bringing all of our runners together for one exciting morning of racing and celebration.

And for our Half Marathon runners, we’re bringing back a fan favorite! The 2027 Half Marathon course will once again take runners across the river into West Columbia and Cayce, showcasing even more of the communities that make the Governor’s Cup such a special Columbia tradition.

New home. New race-day experience. A refreshed course. And the same Governor’s Cup tradition.
