The 11th annual Screenland 5K rolls out the red carpet with movie‑inspired visual and performing arts for all ages—plus a show‑stopping “Love and Romance” costume contest. Flash your finisher's medal at the paparazzi and enjoy the health and fitness expo.

Munchkins on the Move
Young screen stars follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City, cheered on by characters in the exciting Munchkin Dash for toddlers, kiddos, and teens. Distances range from .1K to 1.5K. Participants receive a race shirt and medal.
Add Screenland 5K cinema socks to your race day outfit and show them off for years to come! High-quality athletic socks come in two sizes.
And the Clapboard goes to...
Spread the love by creating a team or hopping onto one when you sign up! The largest "ensemble cast" gets the love and the coveted perpetual Heart of Screenland Director's Clapboard with your team name engraved on it. Winning team's captain and the Grand Marshal will start the 5K by clicking the clapboard.

Whether you're Shrek or Fiona, Gomez or Morticia, Mulder or Scully, Elle or Emmett, Eliza or Henry, Westley or Buttercup, the "Heartman," a Valentine's Day Card or a box of chocolates--—WE WANT TO SEE IT!
The “Love and Romance” Costume Contest on Race Day, Feb. 28, starts at 8:00 a.m., with finals at 8:20 a.m. New costume dance contest, too!
Role Playing Adventure
In a town where movie magic has danced across the screen for generations, you may find yourself high‑fived by an ogre or a witch before you’ve even hit your stride. Along your 5K route, characters inspired by Culver City films rooted in classic role‑playing adventures will square off in spirited, good‑natured battles worthy of a studio backlot brawl.
Pause for a selfie or step into the fray with The Hero Workshop—Culver City’s own haven for adventurers of every age. It’s a community space where heroes are forged through shared storytelling, imagination, and the timeless charm of tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons. In true Hollywood fashion, the line between audience and cast blurs, and everyone gets a moment in the spotlight.
Go Fly a Kite
Catch a sky-high salute to Culver City’s movie magic as kites swoop, dive, and “act” their way along the 5K course. Flappy birds, crows, and hawks—each inspired by award-winning productions filmed in the Heart of Screenland—will flutter overhead in a playful nod to Hollywood’s most iconic scenes.
Prepare for your Close-Up
Screenland 5K trainers will lead complimentary workouts for walkers and runners of all abilities, sponsored by Midwest Roofing. Come run, walk, enter the raffle, and meet new friends along the way.
Legacy Medals
Each time you complete a consecutive Screenland 5K, you'll receive a finisher‑medal replica that attaches to a custom plaque. This year's Legacy Runner medal features a cinematic “Love and Romance” icon, joining past classics--Clapboard, Projector, Star, Curtains, Film Canister, Popcorn, Megaphone, Director’s Chair, Masks, and 3D Glasses. Keep your streak going to build a full cinematic set—an exclusive tribute to our Legacy Runners.
Race Walks the Walk
The past few Screenland 5Ks have collectively raised over $40,000 in funds, services, and rebates for local non-profits and awarded $20,000 in honorariums to visual and performing artists, showcasing the community's talent and generosity. Donate here.
Classic Cars & Stars
For a full century, Culver City has seen its films awarded year after year. In tribute to that remarkable run, this year’s course unfolds in vintage style, with gleaming roadsters and cast members portraying beloved icons from Hollywood’s award‑winning past—many echoing our “Love and Romance” theme. Pedal into Screenland
Kids can bike the course with Walk ’n Rollers pros and the CCPD before the big race! Meet at the Screenland 5K starting line at Ivy Station at 7:15 a.m. on race day. Riders must wear helmets and stay on the designated route with course leaders. Enjoy the Health and Fitness Expo right after.
Your Virtual Path to Stardom
If you will be busy polishing your Academy Awards acceptance speech on race morning, you can still join the fun by signing up for the Screenland 5K Virtual Run. Complete your 3.1-mile journey at a time and place that fits your schedule. We'll set aside your shirt, race bib, and finisher's medal (subject to avail.).
