CHARITIES GO FOR GOLD
The 2024 Screenland 5K raised $20,000 in funds, services, and rebates for local non-profits, and awarded nearly $10,000 in honorariums to visual and performing artists, showcasing the community's talent and generosity.
The Culver City Council PTA received over $7,500 to support Backpacks for Kids and other youth programs. More than $6,500 benefitted a diverse range of organizations, including Jazz Hands for Autism, Connecting to Cure, Bike Culver City, FeedCulver, Culver City Historical Society, Scout troops, Friends of the Sandy Segal Youth Health Center and Culver City Firefighter and Police Officer associations. Student, faculty, and service groups garnered concessions of $5,600 in booths, rebates, and supplies.
Event sponsors helped fund the contributions. Culver City Rotary Foundation officers (from left) Carmela Raack and Heather Witt are pictured.
CHARITY CHASE
Support local heroes—Olympians, actors, educators, politicians, service club leaders, and municipal employees—as they rock and roll down the yellow brick road. Join them on Saturday, March 1, at 2:30 pm at Ivy Station, where they will vie for glory, gold, and charity in the Celebrity Charity Cycle Chase.
